Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose a bachelor of commerce Hons degree because I am coming from a commerce background and of which I chose this degree. It can add value to my understanding of commerce and will surely enhance my knowledge and widen my thinking regarding commerce. The faculty of this college is quite impressive. Students here are from different cities which gives us a brief view of various cultures, languages, ideas, beliefs, etc. Because of the cuet test, students who came this year seem to be quite qualified and impressive as they have cracked a national level test to enter this college. The teachers here are also quite qualified in their field. Attending their lectures gives us an idea about their knowledge and we learn new things every day which weren't taught correctly to us at our school level. Currently, I am giving my term exams, the demerit of this time is that the term exam is being conducted in just 3 months of studies because our course was started late in 2022 cause of Covid 19.

Placement Experience

3

The campus placement of this college is decent as a B.Com hons graduate student of this college can get an average of 5-6 lakh per annum with just a B.Com Hons course. The placement can also go up to 12-13 lakh as it just depends on the student to students as how he represents themselves in front of the company. B.Com hons of our college has the highest placement chances as many companies come to hire students from this course. Approx. 40-50% of students of our college do get placement to be it less or high. My plan after college is to complete my chartered accountancy course. I won't sit for the placement as my aim and aspirations in my life are different.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees here in this college of Delhi University are quite minimum which is 11750 per year. Which makes 1000 per month. the major cost that students from outside Delhi bear are living expenses here which cost us 11-15k per month to all of us on average. After the low fees, Delhi University also gives students a facility of financial assistance where they can file the form for the fees to be given back to them because of their financial condition. It just requires a few attachments like a father's income certificate, Aadhar card, etc., and the work is done. Once verified the fees get returned to the students

Campus Life

4.5

Life at the campus is quite fascinating. When we came to our college for the first time. We saw various societies of our college organizing various events and helping us know about them. It was a very lively event and all of us were very enthusiastic about beginning the new journey of our Life. The library of our college is very vast with all kinds of books being easily available. It also has 2 floors which makes it even bigger. The classroom is decent like all other classrooms. Our college also conducts various sports events like cricket and football the two most popular sports. It also has a basketball as well as a volleyball court. Our college has many societies. Like dance society (spardha), social work society (Rotaract), entrepreneurship society (e cell), etc.

Admission

For the first time, the admission process for Delhi University was implemented and I was one of those from this batch who gave the central university entrance test(cuet) conducted by nta for the first time. Initially, it was very troublesome for us as it was new for us and we didn't use to understand exactly how the exam is going to be conducted, because it was a computer-based multiple choice questions exam from our 11-12th syllabus. There were no past papers even for reference because it was our first time. There were many loopholes in the system due to which many of us students got problems, but at last, everything was conducted well and we got our college. The application form for the same is available on the official website which is samarth.ac.in. I am a general student so I didn't get any benefit of reservation. There can be many improvements which can be adopted from now on. Like completing the test within 10-15 days cause the last time the exam was conducted for months.

Didn't got selection for this college because I wasn't able to crack the criteria required for a general student!

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...

But this college has one of the very best cricket team and one of our student named Mayank dagar is leading Indian National under-19 team. So I think you understand the impact.
