Just Satisfied

So I do not have any sort of interest in Chemical engineering. I had to choose this just because I wanted one of the oldest IIT's where the placements are decent enough. So the faculty student ratio is quite good. The batch strength is about 170-180 students and we have 25 professors. The faculty is highly educated. Many of them have done their PHD's from reputed colleges like IIT's and also from abroad. You won't understand much in classes but you can alaways ask doubts. Term exams are almost every two months. I literally studied just 5 to 6 days before and easily passed the exam.

Many big companies like google, microsoft, goldman sachs etc. vist the campus for internships. The stipend offered varies from 50 thousand to 2 lacs. You have to clear the coding test and have sufficient project in your domain to get an internsip.

Placements start after your 6th Semester. Placements at IIT BHU are quite good. If you have not wasted your college life by just partying and stuff you will get a descent placement. Many big companies like google, microsoft, sprinkler etc. come to the campus. Almost 90 percent of the students get placed. The hightest package offered in 2022 was 2.1 crores and average package is around 20 lacs per annum.

The fees is quite low compared to private colleges. We have to pay about 106500 Rupees for the course and 15000 for mess per sem. I don't know much about scholorships but yeah there are many proigrammes offering scholorship to students. These informations are mailed to the students so you don't have to worry that much. I am still in my second year so I can't really comment on the job, but yeah the placements here are very good.

Life at IIT BHU is quite chill. We have cultural clubs, technical clubs and various sports opportunities. The infrastructure is quite old to be honest but the best thing is that you can find peace anywhere in the campus. We have a main library and evry department has its own library. You will find many books in the library which are just enough for you to become an expert in any field. Classrooms are spacious, a little old but just enough for you to concentrate on your lectures. Sports culture at IIT BHU is very good. You can play any sports you like. We even have squash. The grounds are quite large and well maintained. Many clubs are run by students like Business club, Cine club etc.

Hostel facility is one of the best in IIT BHU. We have different hostels here. In the first year you have to live with 2 more students and as you come in your 2nd year there will be double sharing rooms. The hostel here are some mahals and I need not to comment on the hostel life which is literally the best part of your college life. Mess food is the best in IIT BHU among all the IIT's. There are different sweets on different days. Hostel including mess cost around 15000 per semester.

So entry in IIT BHU was through JEE ADVANCE. I gave the examination and got an All India Rank(AIR) of 7533. Then I had Josaa counselling where I had to select colleges according to my priorities. So one of the many colleges I filled was IIT BHU(4 Year B.TECH Chemical Branch). The distribution of colleges is purely based on your ranks. Higher rankers will be prefferd above you. One thing I would like to improve in the admission process is that we should be given proper instructions before filling the josaa counseling.
