Experience the college life

Overall I can say it's good college if you want to experience the best of the college life. Making yourself something from SRM depend on you, if think you are better than then rest of your competitors then you are welcomed.

I took SRMJEE which is the entrance exam to get admission in SRM. I scored 201 in that and got admission under category 2.

The course curriculum for the first year is just a step ahead of what you have studied in class 11&12. But then the focus of the course will shift towards your branch for the rest of the remaining years. Also there are many opportunities for research and development of oneself.

As I'm in my first year, I don't have much knowledge about internship stipend. But yes it do provide internship opportunities to deserving students.

Placement are pretty decent. Many giants come to visit the college during placement and take students in good number. The highest package has been around 20-25 lpa and the average is around 4-5 lakhs. All depends on the individual if he had work hard or not. But one thing is sure, you will never lack of opportunities.

Ohh! The events. SRM has lots of events going all the time. Two of them are the tech fest known as aaruush and the cultural fest known so millan. Many huge stars come to entertain the students during that period. Many workshops are also conducted inside the during the tech fest, which acts as a bonus for students.

If you mange to get a good rank in SRMJEE i.e. Under 10k then you will end up paying 2.5 lakh as the tuition fees per annum for CSE branch. The fees increase as their is increase in rank. Also the fees depends on the course you choose and the stream you pick.

Yes their is scholarship for students who score under 100 in SRMJEE, their whole tuition fee is waved off.

Campus life is great in SRM KTR, every time there is something going on inside the campus to which you can look at. Gender ratio is about 5:1 I can say, as much as I have seen. Diversity is great in SRM, you can find students from all over the country inside the campus.

Hostel facilities are quite good. I would rate hostel rooms 8/10, hostel bathroom 5/10 although they are clean but you have to deal with mosquitoes. And now comes the mess, so personally I would rate mess 7/10 on some days and 3/10 on other, because it depends on the menu which they are preparing.

Seniors are very helpful, apart from few of them! They will help you in every aspect if you approach them. In first year you will have a very little interaction with seniors as the academic blocks are different.

So, there is one CT, one model exam and one end semester exam in one semester apart from that there is one surprise test and one assignment. So in total their are 5 exams one can say. One can score good score if he studies regularly. The schedule is not that hectic and can say it was very much chilled out.

My admission was on the basis of my score in SRMJEE. But one can also apply directly by management quota. If you can spend that amount of huge money. Also you may not get the desired branch. So make sure if you are coming to SRM you must clear SRMJEE under 10k.

Most of the faculty are you will find here are South Indians so you will face a bit problem in understanding. But they will clear all your doubts personally, if you have any. Half of the faculty are PhD holders and rest of them are post graduate. You will have to depend on self study in the end.
