Course Curriculum Overview
The choose the course mainly because of my rank and also since not many people opt for metallurgical engineering but it's a really interesting subject to study forth. The faculty is good and supportive if you ever face any time of issues and the student ratio in each batch is roughly 35-40
Internships Opportunities
There are various types of internships offered by the campus. Like I did training in NML (National metallurgical laboratory), Jamshedpur while I was in my third year and we did a few projects. One was an individual project where you can personally work with one of the scientists from NML And the other one was a group project.
Placement Experience
The placements in JU are very good. It happens throughout the whole year and you can sit for it if you have the required skills or experience. And if you didn't get placed on-campus you can always opt for off-campus and prepare yourself for further education which is also a very good option. Students can sit from the 6th semester for the pre-placements. And the percentage of students getting placed is like 95/100.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is very less for studying at such a prestigious university. There are also several types of scholarships that you can apply and the campus placement is also good. Almost everyone gets placed each year after completing their courses.
Campus Life
The social life at Jadavpur university is the best part of the University. There's almost at least one fest every month. Like U-turn, IBTIDA, Sanskriti which is the biggest cultural festival of JU which last for 9 days for the FET( Faculty of Engineering and technology) Books and journals are abundant with lots of copies both in hard and soft copy. There are also a lot of sporting events and clubs that are interesting as they're very active and vigorous.
Admission
The admission process is being done by giving the WBJEE exam or also by JEE and you must get a good rank to get into Jadavpur University. You can find the application form online through Jadavpur University's website. Not sure about the reservation benefits.
