Course Curriculum Overview
I choose ECE because it is very interesting and gets you good placements. Faculty is very strict about core studies so it is hard to manage side interests. The faculty is well-qualified for teaching and will help you with your curriculum always. Exams are hosted twice every semester and are easy to pass.
Fees and Financial Aid
Each semester a tuition fee of 1lakh has to be paid with roughly 25000 rupees for mess and hostel. I have not received any scholarship. I have received a job offer from PhonePe on campus with a total ctc of roughly 30 lahks per year.
Campus Life
There is a cultural fest Kashiyatra, a tech fest TechNex and a sports fest Spardha every year. All these events are very big and happening. There are many other small fests and events throughout the year. All course books and popular journals are available in the library either as e-books or as hard copies. The classrooms are very basic with a board, speaker system, projector system etc. Sports are very much respected and encouraged here. There is a new building with really good sports equipment and space at IIT BHU. Their many clubs run by students namely Cult, Science & Technology and Social Services.
Admission
I had to clear JEE advanced. I got an AIR 1829 in JEE advanced. Then I had to participate in JOSAA counselling process where you get a college based on your JEE advanced rank and preference. Application forms on jee advanced's website can be easily found using google search. For general male candidates, the application fee was 1500 rupees and application for JEE advanced started after two jee main ended around April. The date of the exam was May-19-2019. There are no reservation benefits for General candidates. SC/ST, OBC, Girls and EWS are various categories that receive benefits of reservation but you are required to have documentary proof. Apart from reserved seats SC/ST candidates don't have to pay tuition fees. The admission process would be better if proper statistics regarding placements and higher studies were provided via these Institutes.
