Course Curriculum Overview
Biotechnology as a course is growing not in foreign countries but also in India. There are about 40 teachers in our department for around 500 students. Majorly all the teachers are PhD holders. Teachers are very friendly and apply a practical approach to teaching. Majorly two mid-semester exams are held and one major semester exam occurs after 6 months. Exams are of moderate difficulty.
Internships Opportunities
For my course, the college does not provide internships. Students are required to do an internship on their own although the university provides a stipend. After completing the degree student can apply for a junior assistant or an assistant professor.
Placement Experience
Students will start getting placement mail from University when they are in their last two semesters. Nestle, panacea, and Biocon visited us for placement. The highest package was around 41 lakh and the average package for placement is around 6 lakh. 80-90 per cent of students get placed
Fees and Financial Aid
University provides scholarships on the basis of your 12th marks. for example, they provide 100 per cent scholarships for students with more than 90 per cent marks in high school. Also if any student needs financial help University can give it to them after providing them necessary details.
Campus Life
The university organises the yearly fest UNIVERSUM in the month of October or November. The central library for every department is well maintained with every subject book. Moreover, many sports events, talent hunts and several other quizzes or extra curricular activities happen at regular intervals.
Hostel Facilities
There are 15 hostels with both single and double-tier rooms provided with single beds, an almirah, a table and a chair for each student. The mess food is good but the menu is boring. The registration process is very easy you can directly apply from the university website.
Admission
For this course, your core subjects in high school should be PCB. The application form can be filled out directly from the university website. Application fees were around 1500. I did not avail the reservation benefits although it is available for eligible candidates.
