A review of IGIMS, Patna

I chose this course as it always was a childhood dream of mine to become an able doctor. The faculty-to-student ratio is very healthy ( around 1:2) Faculties are extremely qualified and the teaching method is modern. Teachers teach with the help of projectors and slides as well as blackboards. Exams are multiple and moderately difficult to pass. You will need to be regular with your studies at this college.

Internship opportunities at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences(IGIMS, Patna ) for the MBBS Course are provided in the 5th year of the course. It is very fruitful for medical students as they gain clinical experience there.

The fees for the MBBS Course are different in different years and can be easily accessed on the website of IGIMS. It would be best if you take a look there as the fee structure provided on the site is extremely detailed and will quench your queries.

Campus life is fun as well as stressful. From the fun times during fests and Pujas to the difficult times during Semester Exams and Professionals. All sorts of books and journals are available in the huge and spacious library. Classrooms are spacious enough with centralised Air Conditioning and projectors. Multiple sports facilities can be availed on the campus. Some are Cricket, Badminton, Volleyball, Carrom, Table Tennis, Football etc.

The hostel facility of Igims is decent. Although Overpopulation is a tad bit of a problem. Rooms are furnished with already provided beds, cupboards and tables. It can be anywhere from single to Four-seaters.

For admission into the MBBS Course of this college, you need to qualify for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) which is a competitive exam given by about 18 lakh students every year. The MBBS Course is 5 years long as you may or may not know with the last year is that of an internship in the hospital. After passing the NEET Exam the candidates have to register themselves for counselling as per the designated dates provided by the government. As the different rounds of counselling are done you may be allowed this college according to your respective rank. When allotted, Candidates need to report physically at the college along with the required set of documents to ensure that a seat is allotted to them. They may opt for the option of upgradation as well(as I did). In case of vacancy in other selected colleges in the Counselling list, you may get upgraded. After the final rounds of counselling, if you are allotted this college you will need to submit all your required documents & fee
