Teachers are very helpful and co-operate with students.
Medical facilities available in University campus.
There are no ragging.University campus is ragging free campus.

Wifi is available but only for faculty members not for students.

Course Curriculum Overview

Today the Computer is one of the parts of our life. And Computer Engineers have developed all applications so I chose this course. Facilities are well qualified and knowledgeable. They teach us very carefully. Exams are held on two times a year. Exams are not easy or not hard.

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 70000 per year

Placement Experience

From six semesters students are eligible for campus placement. Some companies like TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, cognizant etc visited the campus. Approx 90 percentage students get placement. My plan after getting the degree is MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

My total 4 years course fee is 620000 but I got a scholarship from University.Ammount is approx 300000. 75% off tuition fee. And you can get a swami Vivekananda scholarship. Over All good and enjoyable.

Campus Life

The name of the annual fest is Anudhata. The library is very good. All books are available in the library. Indoor games and outdoor games are available on the University campus. There are some musical groups, drama groups, and coding groups that are run by students.

Hostel Facilities

Teachers are provided notes, pdf and copies. The registration process for a hostel is very good. First, you need to pay for the security deposit and one month's extra payment. I rented a pg near biswa bangla gate.

Hostel Fee: INR 120000 per year

Admission

Eligibility for B.Tech Computer Science Engineering is Pure Science background in class 12. The application form is available on University or website. There is no application fee. And you got a very attractive Scholarship from University.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Insights of SNU

There are a few private colleges present in Kolkata which provides biotechnology but in my opinion the labs of those colleges are not as well furnished as ours. There curriculum is little different than ours. I didn't apply to any other colleges apart from Snu for biotechnology I sat for an online exam .And I cleared the test. Once you get a call you visit the college campus meet the faculty and the faculty may take a type of interview session The addmission process is smooth. But sometimes the staff members of admission makes blunder. My classes were about to start from 17 August, but they called me during July( because she didn't know that biotechnology does not fall under para- medical and made a mistake and for her mistake I had to suffer as I'm not a resident of Kolkata)...Read More
