From my childhood, I was interested in software development and programming. I learn to program from class 8 for CSE study after Higher Secondary. Sister Nivedita University's all professors are very caring and friendly. They all completed a Ph.D. degree and their teaching methods are very unique and smart.

Placement Experience

From 6th semester B.tech students are eligible for campus placement. TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, and cognizant are visited. In 2023 highest package is 23LPA and the average package is 550000. The lowest package is 320000. 78% of students got placement from the 2023 batch. I want to higher study after this degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

My 4-year B.Tech course fee is approx 620000 but I got a merit scholarship from University and my semester fee is approx 45000. Everyone is eligible for Svmcm Scholarship and Student Credit card scheme.

Campus Life

University's fest is a very enjoyable program and its name is Aalap. And some Tech fests are connected by University. University's Central Library is hygienic and all books are preserved for students. The classrooms are very big and a projector system is available. University has some drama clubs and musical clubs.

Admission

For B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, you need a science background especially mathematics and physics. At first, I saw Sister Nivedita University's add on Facebook and then I visit the University campus with my father and took the final Admission.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Insights of SNU

There are a few private colleges present in Kolkata which provides biotechnology but in my opinion the labs of those colleges are not as well furnished as ours. There curriculum is little different than ours. I didn't apply to any other colleges apart from Snu for biotechnology I sat for an online exam .And I cleared the test. Once you get a call you visit the college campus meet the faculty and the faculty may take a type of interview session The addmission process is smooth. But sometimes the staff members of admission makes blunder. My classes were about to start from 17 August, but they called me during July( because she didn't know that biotechnology does not fall under para- medical and made a mistake and for her mistake I had to suffer as I'm not a resident of Kolkata)...Read More
