Campus is big,CCTV system and security purpose.
Labs are available in University and labs are really useful.

Course Curriculum Overview

Computer Science Engineering is a four years course after this course you will be an expert in software development, so I chose this course. Faculty members are also helpful and serious about our future. All faculty members are highly educated and experienced.

I know every B.Tech student got placement after the 6th semester. I saw my university's 3rd year 78% students, they placed some reputed companies like TCS, Wipro, Capgemini etc. The highest package of this year is 22 lacks, and the lowest package is 320000. After getting my degree I join a company as a Software Engineer.

Fees and Financial Aid

My total Course fee is approx 620000. Per semester my semester fee is approx 72000. I got Swami Vivekananda Scholarship from the government of West Bengal. And every student is eligible for a west Bengal student credit card and any other loans provided by some banks.

Campus Life

This is my first year at Sister Nivedita University and before class start, they organised a program for freshers. I got my necessary all books from the University library. University has some entertainment clubs where you can join as a member.

Admission

First, you are interested in computer Science Engineering then you must study science in class 12. My brother is a student at my sister's Nivedita University and he refer me to study I filled out the form for admission.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Insights of SNU

There are a few private colleges present in Kolkata which provides biotechnology but in my opinion the labs of those colleges are not as well furnished as ours. There curriculum is little different than ours. I didn't apply to any other colleges apart from Snu for biotechnology I sat for an online exam .And I cleared the test. Once you get a call you visit the college campus meet the faculty and the faculty may take a type of interview session The addmission process is smooth. But sometimes the staff members of admission makes blunder. My classes were about to start from 17 August, but they called me during July( because she didn't know that biotechnology does not fall under para- medical and made a mistake and for her mistake I had to suffer as I'm not a resident of Kolkata)...Read More
