What Students Say
Likes
- I liked how faculty would interact with students. They were open minded and welcomed us and our ideas with pleasure.
- I like how we have so many varieties of social events such as traditional day, annual fest, sports competitions, flashmob, technical clubs etc.
- I liked how the campus was diversed and faced Little to no discrimination from anyone.
Dislikes
- Canteen hygiene. They gave us 2 canteens and one had severe hygiene issue as it was right outside with only thin cloth roof and dogs would walk around along with people inside.
- Infrastructure of college was issue sometimes.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course because I always wanted to be a computer science engineer. The course was fairly constructed to give students access to a wide area of knowledge. The student-to-faculty ratio is good too, it is 1:20. The faculty is good and they would guide us with whatever we needed help with and seemed to have a lot of knowledge. We got to learn more outside our curriculum a lot of times. The exams were being properly scheduled not to burden students and in terms of how difficult it was to pass, if u had attended all lectures, and did write notes, and would learn it even after the class it done. You can easily write the exam without intense preparation the night before the exam. Faculty were supportive and gave free rein to all students to explore what we would want to achieve and to explore their interests.
Internships Opportunities
They did provide internship opportunities but they were virtual and unpaid ones. Salesforce, Azure, etc.; Through AICTE we even got the opportunity to have government internships. We even got offered various internship opportunities but they required a lot more qualifications than we had to give those us as the option was kind of weird.
Placement Experience
They start our placements as early as the 6th sem. i.e.; starting from the last sem of the third year. They give us placement training from the first year itself. Be it aptitude, technical, communication, or everything. The highest package we were offered here was 12-14 lakhs and the average is about 6-7 lakhs per annum. Nearly 70% of our college students get placed. I plan to do a job after I get my degree. I am already placed in one of the companies which our college provided to us as campus placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are quite a bit of an issue since this is autonomous. And was accredited with an A+ review by NAAC. It does cost nearly around 1 lakh to study here but they do provide a lot of scholarship opportunities. TS-EPASS is one of the government-provided scholarships, Women's scholarships, and many others ones.
Campus Life
They do have clubs and we recently had silver Jubilee. We have our annual fest as a technocrat. It was held in march. They invited celebrities and politicians. All books are available in our library and we can access them. They do hold sports and a few of my classmates won some competitions. One of my classmates was a nationwide taekwondo champion sponsored by our college. Our college also runs the VIBA incubation center for students and startups. They are for students who want to be entrepreneurs and start their idea of businesses.
Admission
The admission process was fairly easy. I took the EAMCET entrance exam, then after I had gotten the result back, I applied for counseling for college admission. It turned out that by combining all my EAMCET rank, reservation benefits, and previous marks, I was eligible for taking up a Computer science engineering course. I applied to 3 colleges and the top choice is the college I'm in right now. After it, I just had to wait for the results of the counseling and after I realized that I did get to have a seat at vaagdevi college, they contacted me and I provided all the details and forms which they asked for. Overall it was fairly easy. Reservation benefits I prevailed were of minority cast OBC minority.
Other Applied Colleges
SR University - [SRU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
It was my second choice. My initial choice was Vaagdevi college of engineering anyway.
