One of the best college of west india

The college management is one of the best than what i have seen in other colleges of the city. So MNIT seems to be one of the best engineering college for overall development and enrichment of any student.

I took JEE MAIN, JEE ADVANCED and BITS. I scored the best in JEE Mains out of the three mentioned. So it was clear that either i choose an NIT or IIT. As i am from Jaipur admission to MNIT adds icing on the cake. According to my rank ( AIR-1175 ) and my interest in Computer Science (even my optional subject in class 12th was Informatics Practices) , some of the best NIT's and IIIT's options are IIT Allahabad, MNIT Jaipur, MANIT Allahabad, NIT surathkal. But i preferred MNIT because its one of the best for computer science and had very good placements and curricullum. Moreover i need not to be home sick also. And this really proved to be the best option.

The course curriculum is quite good as i mentioned earlier. It includes all the major core courses as well as some specific courses that are of immense importance in the real industry world. There is a vast scope for research and development and every initiative or new idea is supported by the teachers.There is also a material research centre for research purposes. But a little more courses ,especially the new ones like big data technology, machine learning , can be added up to improve the curriculum and keep the interest of students.

Yes, the college provides internships for almost all the engineering branches . Many esteemed companies visit the college to pick up the nurturing talent. The stipend varies from 1lakh to 5k. Total number of Internships (Paid) offered to 3rd year students in 2016 : 78 Some of the companies that visit are Amazon, Walmart Labs, Smartprix, JP Morgan , Fidelity , Oracle , Texas , L&T , Bajaj, Deloitte etc. So one gets the real industry practical training which is quite good for further job opportunities.

There is atleast one event every day and i can assure you that as i have seen this since i joined the college. Some of the major events are the Techfest , Annual fest (Blitschlag) , Annual sports meet , MNIT sports tournament ETC. Apart from these there are other events line clean mnit, science and innovation fairs and workshops , other tech workshops , seminars by eminent personalities , quizzes etc. Almost all the festivals and special ocassions are celebrated with joy and excitement.

The fee structure has changed a bit since i joined and has become more flexible you can say. There is seperate fee for seperate income groups.The tution fee per semester for BTech varies as:- Most Economically backward students (Income Below 1 Lac) : Rs.0 Other Economically backward students(Income 1 Lac to 5 Lac):Rs. 20834 Income Above 5 Lac : Rs. 62500 The other fee like library fee, development fee, internet fee , magazine fee etc. amounts to around Rs. 16300 to Rs. 16700 per semester. The hostel fee including electricity and mess charges amounts to Rs. 75000 per annum

There are many scholarships available but mostly are for the SC's and ST categorys. Some of the major ones are Swami Dayanand Scholasrship, CM scholarship, OPGems scholarship etc. There is aloan facility by ICICI and Other banks one of the most availed one is Lakshmi Loan Scheme.

Campus life is amazing , the best for the hostellers. Although the gender ratio is low as one can find in all the engineering colleges . There are students from almost all the corners of the country and even from abroad like america , qatar, afghanistan , dubai , kuwait , nepal etc. But there is unity even in diversity. Parties are organised on almost all the ocassions . A number of workshops are organised every month to enhance the knowledge of students. There are cultural society, literary society , technical society music society , dance and theatre groups . There is no discrimination on age , sex , race , religion etc.

The hostel facilites and mess food are good . Although the rooms are small but are designed properly and each student even if 2 share a room each gets seperate bed , cupboard and study table . There are around 15 + hostels in the campus and there is never a shortage of the seats. There are seperate hostels for girls and boys. The mess food is good and hygienic and has both veg and non veg food available . Hostels also have a seperate caneen .

The seniors are quite helpful and motivating . There is no chance of ragging in the college and even the seniors try to be like your friends. The alumni association supports the college alot and also donate funds for the improvement in infrastructure and research.

The exam structure is same as it is in almost all the engineering colleges i.e. every semester 2 mid terms and one end term exam with 20% ,20% ,40 % weightage and 20 % for class evaluation. Almost all the practical courses have labs for better understanding and practical implementations of the concepts. But one can say that its a bit hactic schedule but don't worry one gets easily used to it.

As the admissions to NIT's and IIIT's was through the JOSAA counselling process , which involved online choice flling and uploading of documents I filled my interested choices .Then upon shortlisting I got MNIT Computer science option in the first cutoff schedule.Then i need to report to the MNIT campus along with all the documents my allotment letter, The college maintenance and administration staff was very gentle and helping. I even forgot to bring one of my documents but they made me calm and advised me to submit the document at a later prescribed date. Every work is digital and really quick.

The faculty in MNIT one can say is a combo of the old gems and the new jewels. The college has the most expert and experienced teachers as well as the young teachers . They both try to make you understand each and every concept well . The young teachers are such that one can share every thought , even the personal matters like if they are your friends.Also one of the problem in most of the NIT's is that it has a diversity in students as they belong from the different extremes of the country but the faculty try to make one explain in every possible language bridging the linguistic gap.
