I choose this course at this institute because of the reputation of the institution, it is the second oldest engineering in India. The average package for the computer science and technology branch is 19.5 lakhs for 2023. All reputed companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Accenture, Cognizant, ZS associates, WELLS FARGO, Texas Instruments and many more visits the campus for recruiting. Faculty is highly qualified and have completed their education from reputed institutions in and out of India. The curriculum is divided into 8 semesters. Each semester has two examinations midsemester and end-semester examinations. If one attends classes regularly and follows the instructions and lectures of professors then it is not at all difficult to score well in the examinations. The faculty is helpful and accessible for academic, and research purposes as well as non-academic problems.

Companies like Microsoft, wells fargo offer internships with monthly stipends of 1lakh 25 thousand and many are converted to ppo. many students are selected for research internships at various IITs. many are selected for internships abroad.

From the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. The highest on-campus package was 45lakh offered by Microsoft for the SDE role. more than 95% was placed for CST and IT departments. The fee structure is the same as the NIT fee structure. tuition, infrastructure fees and other expenses amount to one lakh forty thousand and 60000 mess fees. total two lahks per annum. GAABESU is the financial aid provided to students having an annual income of fewer than two lakhs rupees. a two-third waiver on tuition fees for students having an annual family income of fewer than five lahks and a full waiver for SC/ST and students having an annual family income of less than one lakh.

REBECA the oldest college cultural fest in the country is organised in march-April. It is a four day star studded event. The institute hosts INSTRUO the largest technical fest of kolkata in January - February . Entrepreneurship development cell of organises Scintillations the entrepreneurship summit every year. The library has more than 350000 books, journals and research publications.

IIEST, Shibpur is an institute of national importance. The institute admits students through JEE mains examination. The application form can be accessed through jeemain.nta.nic.in website. The application fee is INR 1000 for gen/gen-ews/obc(ncl) male candidates and INR 500 for SC /ST/ PWD/ TRANSGENDER and FEMALE candidates. The dates for application of JEE mains 2023 paper 2 were from 14FEB-12MARCH 2023. Reservations are available for female, SC/ST, OBC(NCL), GEN-EWS, and PWD candidates. full fee waiver on tuition fees is available for SC/ST candidates and candidates having an annual family income of less than 1 lakh and a two-third tuition fee waiver is applicable for candidates having an annual family income of fewer than 5 lakhs.
