Dislikes
- The total campus area is not that much as it should have been.
- The total intake of students per year is a lot higher than other colleges which make it a bit crowded.
- There are many strict rules regarding girls-boys interaction on campus which is a bit dull thing.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I have good internet in Computer Science and had always wanted to pursue greater in this field. Faculty Student ratio here is not that healthy but it is quite good like 1:40. Faculties are well qualified. Almost all of them are PhD qualified. Most of them teach very well and will make you learn the topic well. In a semester, there are 3 exams(2 CATs and 1 FAT) which are conducted with a gap of 1-1.5 months. For passing the exams, one has to have a thorough knowledge of the subject.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee hike policy has affected several students. It was the time post covid when the annual fee of students was increased. However, one can also avail of scholarship benefits and financial assistance from many NGOs and Governmental Programmes.
Campus Life
The annual fest here at VIT Chennai is Vibrance and the tech fest is TechnoVIT. Vibrance takes place during the February-March period and TechnoVIT during September. Books and Research Journals are available in ample amounts in the library. All the classrooms are well-equipped with smart boards, comfortable benches and good lighting conditions. To be honest sports and extracurricular activities are on the weaker side. Although there is a lot of scopes if you try. There are many cultural clubs, literary associations, and social groups run by students. For example Dream Merchant, EMC, FYI, etc.
Admission
For admission to Vellore Institute of Technology, we have to appear for an online test conducted by the college itself. The application form and application dates for the same were available on their website (www.vit.ac.in). It would be better if they make the after-exam process more transparent like they should allow the candidates to view their response sheets.
