Good for student of Bengal but may be hard for outsiders

I choose this course to get a bright future in the vision field and I want to treat people's vision. The teachers are good and supportive. In the first and second years, they pass time a lot and no proper routine-wise class is done in any semester. There is a strict rule about getting in and out of college. There are a lot of instruments for doing the practical. Exams are of moderate level and are conducted by MAKAUT.

Placements are good with the package of 2 lac per year. Companies like Lenskart, and Zeiss come for placement. I am planning to do a job in the hospital sector rather than in companies like titan or Lenskart. One can go to titan Lenskart or Himalaya in sells department or in the treatment department.

Fees are very high here, in the year the total fees were 450000 and now from this year 2023 the total fees are 520000. Scholarships are available but not useful for outsiders, they are mostly for Bengali students. Only the NSP scholarship is available for non-Bengalis and from students of other states which is just 6000. You have to pay fees even for doing the compulsory internship. Otherwise, the teachers are supportive, and no pressure to give the fees urgently.

Most books are provided by the college and are available in the library. Classrooms are nice, full air conditioning is available everywhere. Nothing many extracurricular activities are done. No social group or club is run by students.

You can get admission by a normal common entrance test. First come first serve service. I have applied by physically coming to the campus in Kolkata. There is no reservation system. Admission is done in the month of August most probably.
