Course Curriculum Overview
The best course in any College is Computer Science and Engineering Course so I chose that course and even my JEE ADVANCED rank was such that the best available course was Computer Science and Engineering. Talking about placement, the placements are the best in Computer Science. Faculty: Student ratio is approximately 1:10 so for every 10 students there is at least one professor which is a very good ratio. Most of the faculties are well qualified having M.Tech and PhD degrees in their respective fields. Our Dean Professor Chiranjeev Kumar Sir is an active member of IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). One of our professors P.K Jana sir is among the top 1% of the world's top scientists. So very clearly the quality of the Professors is the best you can find, their teaching methods are one of the best and crystal clear. All the exams are taken from time to time, one in mid-semester called the Mid-semester examination and one at the end called the end semester examination. Also in between there are quizzes.
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus Placements. All big companies like Google(10 offers), Microsoft (15 offers), Sprinkle(12 Offers), Amazon (16 Offers), Flipkart ( 5 offers), Goldman Sachs ( 7 offers), American Express ( 8 offers) etc. come to IIT ISM Dhanbad. The highest package was 55 lakhs by DE Shaw in the Software engineer profile, the average package was around 20 Lakhs in other profiles like analyst, consultant etc More than 91 Percent got placed. My Plans after my degree are to get a good placement and work in my dream company
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no such fee hike policy. The fees are more or less fixed for 4 years B. Tech program that is around 8 Lakhs. Talking about affordability it could be difficult for some students but there is the provision of a Fee Waiver if your family income is less than 5 Lakh per annum. Also, there is MCM Scholarship if the family income is less than 6 Lakh and your GPA is very good. I didn't get any scholarship because my family income exceeded these figures. Taking about Job I didn't get since I am still in my 3rd Year.
Campus Life
The annual fest is Srijan held every year in the Month of February. It is East Asia's biggest annual fest, even this time singer Mohit Chauhan was called and DJ Nina Suerte from Polland. Tech Fest is Concetto held every year in the month of October. Classrooms are all Digital with an excellent Projector, a big monitor, and excellent ventilation. Talking about Sports and extracurricular activities, there are excellent facilities in the Student Activity Centre SAC ranging from Swimming, badminton, Karate, Gym, Cricket, Football, Basketball, and Hockey to every sport anyone can think of. Extracurricular activities are also brilliantly ranging from drama, dance, and news reporting to any activity anyone can think of. Manthan Club for Music, WTC and LITM Club for dance.
Hostel Facilities
So every room has 2 Beds, window for ventilation, Almirah, Study table, Fan, Tubelight etc. Meal quality is as anyone would expect from IIT Mess, 4 meals are served ranging from breakfast, lunch, tea snacks, and dinner. The menu has different items for 7 days of the week ranging from paneer, malai kofta, and Puri sabzi to all sweet dishes etc. The registration process is done alongside Admission process so nothing has to be done separately. The locality is excellent with all things of daily needs available nearby.
Admission
Basically to get admission in IIT ISM Dhanbad you have to clear JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced. I got AIR 2173 in JEE Mains 2020 and AIR 2863 in JEE Advanced 2020 and I got Computer Science and Engineering at IIT ISM in General Category. Cutoff for getting admission here in lower branches was around AIR 10000 in general category. Application form can be found on NTA website for JEE mains , if anyone clears JEE Mains one can apply for advanced from JEE Advanced website. I didn't avail of any reservation benefit since I am a general category student but any other category student can avail of reservation benefits where even people with around AIR 15k got admission in IIT ISM because of good rank in their category
