Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course I chose was CSE because I like this field and also the placement package is nice. The curriculum, at first might seem unnecessary but as you study more you find that more or less everything in the course is necessary. There are two groups in each branch, i.e, about 60 students and there are two professors for each group for a particular subject. Also, both the groups are further divided into three sub-groups, i.e, a total of six sub-groups for labs, and a professor is assigned to each sub-group. All the professors are not too good, not too bad just like the normal stereotypical image of a professor in an engineering college. The college conducts mid-term and end-term examinations in a semester. Also, quizzes and lab assignments are also conducted. We have midterms after two and a half months after the start of the semester and end terms after the same amount of time. Passing exams is easy if you just study occasionally even before the exams, you can pass.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Many companies visit the college for internship opportunities and they provide stipends in the range of 20,000-1,15,00 for different profiles such as coding and finance. Some companies are JP Morgan, Cvent, Uber, Flipkart, etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

7th-semester students start having their tests and interviews for placements. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Apple, arcesium, JP Morgan, Airbus, Uber, Flipkart, etc. visit the campus. The highest package this time was 86 lakhs CTC to six students and the average package is 14 lakhs. Mainly they offer coding and finance-related profiles. More or less everyone who sits in the placements gets placed, the percentage is above 90. I also want to get a good placement in an MNC.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for the first semester is 1,15,000 and 86,000 afterwards. There are scholarships provided to some students on the basis of caste, economic background, and academic excellence. The hostel fees for a semester is around 65,000 and mess fees is additional based upon how much you eat, it's around 1200 a month usually. Internship and placement opportunities are provided on-campus and they are good. Internships are usually harder to crack than placements.

Campus Life

3.5

PECFEST(cultural) is conducted at the end of the year and PECFEST(technical) is conducted at around mid-year. Both are great and basically the same for someone who wants to enjoy. There are many books available in the library and you can even ask for them if a book is not there. Classrooms have projectors, ACs (not all), and normal chalk/whiteboards. There are plenty of extra-curricular activities like cricket, football, basketball, tennis, Dramatics(dance+acting), singing, bhangra, editorial boards, and societies for each branch-specific thing. Most of the clubs are run by students only and they provide good opportunities for someone to grow in that field.

Admission

The admission in the college are through JEE Mains exam. NTA conducts the JEE Mains exam twice a year and best of those two is selected for the final result of a candidate. You need to have atleast 13k rank for CSE with home state (Chandigarh) quota and 9k if applying from other state quotas in general caste. There is also quota available for EWS, Kashmiri migrant, SC/ST/OBC and sports.
