Remarks

College was good. It was best 4 years of my life. But as I said my batch was first batch to represent that college we suffered a lot in case of lab facilities etc for first few days but later it was okay.

Entrance Preview

I did 11th and 12th. After that there is an entrance examination called as C E T. I took that exam. results were out in the month of june and after I got my results after which there was centralized admission process in which I got the cut off list. This cut off list was important as it listed all the colleges with the minimum CET marks requiremets.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Mechanical Engineering Structure is good and deep conceptual advance. The courses like machine design , machine desing , mechanical system design, strength of materials, theory of machines was useful to build up the basic conceptual knowledge of mechanical engineering. There eas a course named workshop practices on which students get to work on different machines like lathe machine, milling machine, grinding machine and drilling machine etc.

Internships Opportunities

College doesn't provide internships but there is concept like final year project in which student can do the sponsored project. Sponsored project is nothing but like an internship. Where students goes to a company and solve their issues if there are any. And that solving the issues is considered as final year project which is as good as doing an internship.

Placement Experience

5

It was good for IT, mechanical placements was slow. The training and placement officer was not active for the departments like mechanical, civil and electrical engineering. There was only placements for computer. when asked about why there is campus interview drives for other departments except computer the training and placement officer used to tell us that there is slag in other departments no one is hiring, which was a bluff may be the officer was not able to bring core companies for the campus interview drives.

College Events

5

Technical event was celebrated which includes various types of competitions from all the departments. Also annual gathering was also there. Mechanical engineering department arranged events like lathe war roborace robowar, cad war etc. The college authorities were highly interested in arranging the events on a college level. There was an international paper presentation conference held at one event, where all the authors came across the country and presented their research work.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Little expensive for open category students. 85k Per year. For the reserved categories it was like a free education. Just 4-6k fees annually which is joke you can laugh. I don't understand why there is fee structure like this. One more thing in the first year 20k was taken as deposit for no reason and lit was told that the 20k will be returned to your account. It was also a bluff. Later it was told that out of 20k, 5k were returned and rest 15k was marked as stationary fee. It was a joke isn't it?

Fees and Financial Aid

No. Why there would be a scholarship been provided where reservation system is in practice. This question is not valid at all. You should study the reservation system and then prepare a list. There was scholarship provided for the reserved category students which was paid by open category students but in so called the medium called as Fees.

Campus Life

5

All were good. Gender ratio was okay like in the class of 50 approximately 29 were boys. Extra curricular activities were also there and professors encouraged us to participate in. The gender ratio was too much less in mechanical engineering department and civil engineering department where as it was 1:1 in computer engineering department for obvious reasons. There was no recrimination at all in regards to gender and religion. The colleges in India are not like that where you will see the discrimination in gender or religion in behavior only you will see the discrimination in fee structure.

Hostel Facilities

5

I did not admitted to the hostel as I was local guy, So this question is not applicable. Still to complete your annoying word limit I would say there was a girls hostel from the start as the college was new only girls hostel was there at the very first year later boys hostel was built. Honestly i don't know the facilities provided by the hostel. But all the guys used to stay in town may be sharing an apartment in town was cheaper than living in hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

There were no alumni when i got admitted to the college as my batch was the first batch. But later as my batch got graduated alumni network was formed and it is active till date. Alumni meetings were also planned. As a senior student and first batch student i always feel honored and i am happy to help my juniors for further studies or something.

Exam Structure

Exams follow semester pattern. And unit test, mid sem were also there for understanding of students. The college was affiliated to the University of pune so the university was the one who took the final examinations at the end of the semester. Before the written examination there was either practical or oral as per the university syllabus. The oral was the best part of an engineering where oral examination was taken by an external examiner from the other colleges.

Admission

I did 11th and 12th. After that there is an entrance examination called as C E T. I took that exam. results were out in the month of june and after I got my results after which there was centralized admission process in which I got the cut off list. This cut off list was important as it listed all the colleges with the minimum CET marks requiremets.

Faculty

5

Faculty is good. Especially H.O.D. of the department. Labs are good also. All the faculties were appointed one laboratory t take care of. Faculty was good itself as far as self knowledge is concerned. There was a course called as CAD-CAM and automation which is computer aided design, computer aided machining and automation in which students get to work on advanced software like ANSYS and mastercam. The professor who took that course had to study the courses and all the softwares first. It was good course.

Once student get placement offer from one company that student is not allowed to apply next company which package is near to previous company. Placement in Kit college in my year is 70 to 75%. The unplaced students have decided to go for MS.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
