- Placements are just mind blowing and you can get relief for your stable future.
- Alumni network of 102 years of PEC which gives very good confections in big MNC's
- PEC's brand value in North helps grabbing many deals if you organize any event or even startup.
Dislikes
- PEC's Campus is very small and old need some reconstruction
- Hostels are very poor, TOP colleges of India can't have these type of living conditions
- Teachers are not much skilled for teacher though they have excellent knowledge
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Electrical Engineering in PEC because at my rank it was the best option available for me as per placements are concerned, faculties are highly qualified but they lag in some basic teaching skills they have excellent knowledge about their subjects, and the faculty ratio is very poor its around 160 teachers for more than 3300 students, exams are conducted twice in a semester and they are kind of between hard and moderate difficulty level.
Internships Opportunities
While NITs struggle for giving their students internships PEC outstands in this area, Though students are also very hard working and highly competitive but due to seniors' atmosphere and exposure, it helps students to get skilled in the right direction and grab internships.
Placement Experience
I have given 10/10 on placements and really placements are just of IIT levels, Overall average was 16.7LPA and for CSE it was 25LPA, ECE 18.7LPA, EE 15.3LPA, so placements are excellent, only the TOP 5 NITs can compete for PEC in terms of placements, Highest On campus was 83LPA which was given to 5 students, companies like Apple, Microsoft, Amazon regularly visit campus for placements and internships. So if you enjoy and do some hard work side by side you will easily grab a good placement here.
Fees and Financial Aid
PEC is an expensive college its nearly equal to the fee of private engineering colleges, and there are no economic-based scholarships given by PEC on its own, some scholarships are offered by PEC Alumni but those are almost negligible like 2-3 students per branch, and scholarships are given to reserved quota candidates
Campus Life
Campus life is great, though PEC's own campus is not that modern and campus size is also very small when compared to NITs like Jaipur, But its location makes it different and joyfully as PEC is in between the main city Chandigarh and has all facilities one can imagine, NAB is newly built and have all modern day teaching techniques but other departments are very old but construction of new infra is going on. Sports are not that good in this college but extracurricular activities are very highly intensified you will never get bored after coming to PEC, each and every day of College some event is going on.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are really very expensive and can never satisfy their cost, hostels cost around 80k per year which doesn't include the mess fee, which is around 3.7k per month, being too much expensive still hostels are very poor, it feels like slummy areas, though PEC is building new hostels those very good those are given to very limited students, you will get that old hostel, it will take time to get adjusted in these hostels, Mess food also very poor initially but it had improved a lot as Hostel committee takes review after a month of mess food and then it's changed if the review is negative.
Admission
Mode of admission is through JEE Mains, If you get a good rank in JEE Mains you can apply for PEC through JOSAA and CSAB counselling, or admission can be taken by sports, PMSSS(if you have that benefit).
