Good for commerce

the only bad thing about college is those bullies. college should maintain a high security for those bad boys who come to college even after passing and are ready to fight. they wont bother you, but anything can happen with their presence. Everything else with the college is just good faculty is just great, infrastructure is good, toilets are clean, library is big, there is facility of internet library and free wifi in campus.

There was no entrance examination for B.Com students. I wanted to get admission in the Venkateshawar College, which is near to Moti Lal Nehru College. But i did not have the minimum marks required as per cut off to get my desire college. But Moti Lal Nehru College had a decent cut off marks requirement so i got the admission there. i heard that the college is good for commerce students, so i opted for it. I still remember the Law faculty Mr. Harpal Singh and Advertisement teacher Ms.Monika Gulati are the best faculty of Moti Lal Nehru College.

Teachers are well trained and educated for the job they are doing. Commerce is not that technical to teach, if we compare it to Science. there were good teachers to teach the subjects. They are focused to look and give special guidance to the weak students. There were a Project given in the 3rd year, there were no semester system back then, and a mentor to help in preparing the project, mentor was a teacher. And then a group of 2 teacher took viva based on the project and it was a good experience in making the project. overall good faculty very supportive.

No. I would say internship should be mandatory for all the colleges. It shapes the quality of a student. i really wished Moti Lal Nehru would have provided us with the internship, it would have given students pocket money with good experience. Books cant teach everything, LIfe is the best teacher sometimes. Internship is helpful for students as well as for the startups where there is no staff, both can be benefitted from it. i really wish this to be as mandatory or at least optional for the students.

Its good. many companies visit the college every year, and good companies, and students can enroll themselves for the interview. And talented students gets a job in hand even before sitting for the final exams. around 7 students got the job from placement and not many appeared for the interview because they had some other plans for the future. But its easy to get the job from placement if you really have it in you. Back in 2010 they were offering around 15000-20000 to freshers, which is good. WIpro, TCS, Kingfisher airlines, IBM and few more companies were there for the placement.

Freshers party, where jury choose the mr. and ms. freshers among the competitors. we had farewell parties for each course separately. we had annual fest, where a celeberaty comes for performance and fests are usually for 3 days, celeb comes on last day of fest. we have cultural programs during fest. we had annual day for college were college honor the best students and provide annual magazines of college.

fee structure is feasible. i paid around 2-3 thousand for annual fees. and there is a separate window where you can pay your fees and that makes the job less hectic. college also have its own website where students can see the amount that they have to pay for the course.

There is scholarship program help by college and good students with low financial background can avail the facility. i did not availed it. there is one more thing that i would like to mention. Moti Lal nehru has a big library and many books has to be removed from library for keeping the library up to date. and those 3 or more years old books can be borrowed for a year, and that is important for those who cant buy books for financial reasons. and any student of moti lal nehru college can avail this facility.

Campus life is good, people from politics would make you feel like not safe sometimes but i bet those are not student of college. its the problem of all the colleges in south campus. many haryanvi speaking students come to bully you, but not always, only when you are doing what they like, for example playing cricket. otherwise you can have your privacy. Toilets are ample and maintained well by college. lab looks like you can make rocket in it, at least it feels to a commerce student. there is cultural team where talented students can join and can take part in drama, dance and singing based on the preference and talent. College have the football team and volleyball field is also provided. There is good gender ratio in the college, and that brings good diversity. people of high and low profile both comes in college it has a good diversity in terms of people.

there was no hostel facility for moti lal students hence there is no mess. but the college canteen is huge, i mean really huge, with the capacity of around 100 students. Canteen offers average quality food with reasonable price.i used to have Kachories sometimes in canteen, Dosa, palak paneer with parantha, idlis,samosa, and many more. canteen also have a small ice cream shop, it was a mother dairy kiosk i would say, where students can buy good quality ice cream at MRP.

Senior students are helpful, you just have to ask for it. people can create a long term friendship in moti lal nehru college. i do have almost all students of my college plus some friends linked in facebook. One can get a good environment in moti lal nehru college.

It was chilled out. you get your preliminary exams that helped the students to get a feel of final exam. and after six month we had our final exams. maximum marks for the final exam was 75, and 25 is given by teachers to students for the curricular like Assignments, attendance, preliminary exam etc. every question has an alternate question that you can answer in case you feel difficulty in one question you can answer optional hence you had 2 choices for every question, which makes it easy to score good marks.

I got the admission through quota and we had to apply for desired colleges in a form that i got from South Campus. i mentioned all the top colleges but my marks were not good enough to get the admission in desired college. A counseling was done for the students who got the good marks but not good enough for the asked colleges. i was one of them so i was offered to get the admission in moti lal nehru college by a counseling officer. it was like take it or go, so i had to opt for the college. But i dont regeret it. Moti Lal Nehru is a good college, i would say second best, or third best, in south campus.

As i already mentioned. Its the teacher who will make a college best. teachers play a vital role in getting good ratings for the college. not just this in shaping the future of students, a teacher plays a very important role. Glad to have those gems in commerce faculty. Ms. Monika Gulati, Mr. Harpal Singh, Mr. Hari Om Gupta, Ms. Seema Srivastva etc are the best faculty for commerce. And eminent astrologer Mr. Pawan Sinha is also a faculty of Moti Lal Nehru College, but he teaches Political Science there. So Moti Lal Nehru college is full of celeberaty teachers :)
