Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose this course because I was a commerce student and wanted to pursue company secretary further, so this course helped me, since the subjects were the same. Faculty: The student ratio was absolutely balanced. It was about 30-35 children per teacher. All students were monitored by the teacher. The Student's doubts were assisted by the teacher in charge. Faculties were well qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching methods differ from teacher to teacher. Most of the teachers were absolutely good as they provides us with classes through electronic modes and PPTs for better understanding. Also, tests were taken online through login ID and password. While some teachers use traditional teaching methods to teach students. Term exams were taken semester-wise. However, regular tests and internals were taken to test the knowledge of the students. The test was easy to moderate and you can pass them easily by attending lectures regularly.

Placement Experience

2.5

Students were eligible for the campus placement only on the basis of their last 4 semesters' average score. In 5th semester, the test and interviews for the placement start on the basis of their last 4 semester results. The companies which visited the college were not that well known except Wipro. Also, the Offers were made to very less students on the basis of results. The average package is also not up to expectations. The last annual package was Rs. 200000/ annum and the highest goes like 350000/ annum. Only up to 5% of students got placements through college placement cells. The placements seem to be a formality only. Plans after getting the degree - Since I am graduated now, so I am pursuing a professional Course in Company Secretary from the Institute Of Company Secretaries Of India. Also, along with the studies, I am also undertaking training in the same field through a paid internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure - Fees need to be pay annually. Also, there was examination fee to be paid while submitting examination forms to be appear for the exams. The course Fee is very pocket friendly as compared to private colleges for all income groups. Books were provided free of cost on the basis of College Identity Card to assist the students in examination. The Fee hike policy is decided by the administrative Body. Scholarship - In our college, there is scholarship opportunity. Scholarships is provided to those students who were excellent in studies. A student had to apply for the scholarship before the start of the semester to be eligible for the scholarship. On Campus Job - There were no official cell for providing internship opportunities to the students. The placement cell is not so active. Also, there is no awareness between the students regarding the internships. No Stipend is provided to those students who assists and undertakes programmes going in the college.

Campus Life

4

Annual fest - Annual Fest of the college used to be really nice. They were usually conducted in the month of December- January. Star nights also used to be performed by the celebrities. No charges were taken from the students for attending the fest. A special fund is set aside for this purpose. Library - Library is well maintained. All books are available for the students at no cost. Proper arrangements and updation done regularly in the library. The sports activities were good in numbers. There is availability of almost all sports in the college like cricket, basketball, badminton, volleyball, baseball, etc. Tournaments used to be hold for the students within the college and intra college as well. Many students also selected for state levels from the college. Extra curriculam activities were not that good. They used to be not really fun. There were social clubs for dance, singing, nukkad natak, acting, etc., which ran by the students in the supervision of the teachers.

Admission

To be eligible for the b.com (Hons.), an aggregate of 45% marks in Class 12 level. Admission to the B.com (Hons.) was based on merit at that time. Admission was based on the 12th score and cut-off. Application forms were available offline at that time. To be eligible for admission to DU, the candidate has to be registered with the Delhi University website successfully within the stipulated time period. Application fees for registration with Delhi University were very nominal - Rs. 1,000.00 for an application when the admission takes place, the semester fee is to be submitted within the stipulated time period, after the verification of the application and documents. I was a general student, so no reservation benefits were there. The application form should be available offline as well to smoothen the admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
