Worth of Joining PES

Management wise PES having very good faculty. Suggestion to management to treat every department equally with out any partiality. Most of the time we felt MCA department neglected for college events.

PGCET. I opt PES because it was listed as Top 2 in college ranking in year 2010. My score in PGCET and BCA was good and due to same I got this college.

When I was studying, it was under VTU and PESIT was following VTU standards. VTU structured MCA course very well. MCA was divided as 6 semesters and each sem was having average 6 subjects and 3 labs. Out of 6 subjects an average of 2 will be theoretical subjects.

College was offering internship as Rs. 1000/- per month where we can work as assistant to our teacher. I was much benefited from this as most of semester I worked as assistant to our beloved teacher which made me gaining extra knowledge.

PES is more concerned about placements. Every year there are about 100+ IT companies will going to visit campus. I got placed to Wipro Technologies from campus interview. MCA department conducted many placement activities to make all students should get hired from one or another company

They are n number of events were conducted in college. There will be department wise festivals as well. MCA dept started Environmental day which was entirely very different concept in IT college. PES will have one annual day where big celebrities will be invited.

As I went through PECET college tuition fee was less comparatively. As a tuition fee I was on average I was paying Rs 50000 for VTU and around Rs 12000 to college per year. Some events fee will be there in one or two sems. Convocation fee will be around Rs 2000 at last sem.

Government scholarship was offered to students but due to caste I didn't get it. Collage was offering internship kind of program where 2 students per class are eligible to work under faculty. They were giving Rs. 1000 per month which was some what helpful for students.

PES college life is mixture of happiness, sad, seriousness etc. Gender ratio is almost 1:1 . All religion students from all over the India and world are studying in college. College was having good infrastructure. It is having paid gym. Cricket ground is good and not permitted for everyone. I suggest college management that PES should celebrate National festival like Independence Day and Republic day along with every students where as PES is celebrating there festivals for faculties and alumini only.

Hostel fee was costly and will be challenge for middle class family to bear it. Hostel was well maintained and food was too good. There we are having laundry facility on paid basis. Room are too good. But hostel was not having wifi facility at that time. Cafeteria was having TV.

They have many networks for binding alumni but none are effective. Once you leave college you will get yearly twice auto generated for mails for attending National festival.

Exam structure was good as it was under VTU they were following same standards. Theory subjects of VTU will be some what boar and feels difficulty in studying and passing in exams. Lab subjects of VTU are very good and I was fond of lab sessions. Lab instructors were good in manner and were supporting while any difficulty while programming

As I went through PGCET there was not such big process for my admission. But they can make admission process as automation as there was huge queue and only 2 persons in that admission block were processing admission. They took many passport photos and all my original documents. After 2 years they returned all my original documents.

Faculty of MCA department were too good. They were too supportive to all the students. I still remember Mr. Chandrashekar Sir who was our HOD that time is very kind hearted person. He was supported me for each and everything which I was expecting. Mrs. Shreerekha mam our one of the subject teacher who changed my life in my career. She made me to reach final round of all ICIC Trinity India innovative idea competition. Every faculty were good and are having very rich domain knowledge.
