Remarks

Alumni network can be more powerful need dedicated people working for it.

Entrance Preview

MHT CET(100) and AIEEE(51). Being from Solapur, this was my only college preference from Mumbai University as It was well known and nearby to my uncle's place in Malad. I had taken computer engineering because it was one of the booming requirement in an industry at that time.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum was excellent as provided by Mumbai University but it had limited research quotient as is the case for most of the courses in India. Still, the electives in the final year, as well as generic courses(subjects) in the first year, were comprehensive and challenging.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, at my time there were few internship opportunities but they were very limited and competitive. Few students spent a semester or two pursuing internships during the entire course. No idea about the stipend.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement opportunities are good as few of the IT giants visit the campus for mass recruitment such as Infosys, Capgemini(IGate). Apart from them, companies like Hexaware, Zycus, Oracle and few others recruit fairly. Average package range for engineers is 2.5 to 4 LPA.

College Events

4.5

The Atharva is paradise for events. There are many events happening throughout the year such as Techithon (main tech event), Rhythm(Cultural), E-week(Entrepreneurship and mgmt), Ganesh Festival, Sports week etc. All of them are conducted at very good scale. Rhythm is the main and huge fest conducted in alliance with Atharva Mgmt as well Hotel Mgmt colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As per my knowledge in the fee structure of Atharva is most feasible and affordable off all engineering colleges in Mumbai. It also has concessions for backward class students as per the Indian government norms. During my time it was around 50 - 60K per semester now I guess it would be around 80-90k per semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

EBC scholarship is given to students from an economically backward class. Apart from that don't have any leads about the scholarships or loan facilities.

Campus Life

3

Campus life is amazing. A very beautiful campus that will give you the feeling of going in the resort. It also has a swimming pool and gym, though you need special permissions and nominal charges to use it. I think gender ration would be like 60:40(in %male: female). Excellent extra-curricular activities. Many robotics events in techithon anyone can volunteer. Student committee for Rhtym will be chosen from 3rd-year students. Still, everyone can contribute in marketing-sponsorship, decor, registration, celeb teams. Apart from that separate committee are there for IEEE Atharva chapter, CSI Atharva chapter and E-cell. Cool thing is that Atharva now has its own ground station.

Hostel Facilities

3

No hostel facilities. No mess. College canteen is very good. It is managed by hotel management college of Atharva groups. You can avail Chinese, south Indian dishes, Indian meals along with snacks and cold drinks/juice. Canteen food prices are very affordable, one can get a full meal in 50-60 Rs. and standard rates for snacks.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is fairly good. Professors are in contact with students and often provide leads to current students. Most of them are very helpful there can be a few exceptions.

Exam Structure

College follows Mumbai University exam structure. Semester exams at the end of each semester, Labs(Practicals) and mid-semesters conducted by the college. Though, mid-semesters were the least important exams to bother about. Labs/vivas were chilled out sometimes and challenging fewer times depending on the external examiner.

Admission

The admission process was easy through Centralized Admission Process. You have to fill an online form and verify it through one of the nearby engineering colleges which were DTE provided centers. There were 3 CAP rounds in each of them one had to provide a different number of preferred colleges. One needed to submit preference list of 8 colleges for 1st CAP round. At a specific date after a week from the deadline for submitting preferences, DTE will declare whether you've been allotted to one of the colleges from the list or not. If yes, then you've to visit the college before the deadline and take an admission by paying the fees.

Faculty

3.5

At my time faculty in the college were comparatively young and lacking experience though few of them were really talented. Now most of them that are still working there are well qualified and pursuing PhDs. Most of the computer engineering faculty were very much interested in imparting the amount of knowledge they have in particular subjects.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
