Course Curriculum Overview
There are around 22-25 faculty members in the department and around 64-70 students in class The faculty consists of teaching assistants, assistant professors, associate professors and professors. Some retired professors are also there. The teaching methods used by most professors are lectures and discussions. The internals were held in the middle of the semesters and the final exams were held in the end. The exams were fairly easy and it is easy to score if you have read basic notes provided properly.
Internships Opportunities
Majorly local companies in Varanasi that dealt with psychological aspects, de-addiction centres, and mental hospitals. Not any major company gave internships. We were made to do a master's thesis, which was a very enriching experience
Fees and Financial Aid
Around 10000 overall cost of the program including the hostel. The fee hike policy was taken back after the hostellers and the students started protesting regarding it. I did not get any scholarship but there are opportunities available.
Campus Life
Spandan is the annual fest of BHU and the tech-fest is conducted by IIT-BHU called KashiYatra conducted in January mostly. Although you won't usually find space to sit in the library, you can easily find a lot of books of your choice. The classroom has a whiteboard, a podium, a projector and seats for the students. Lots of extracurricular activities and fests keep happening on campus by various departments in which anybody can take part. And yes, a lot of social groups and clubs too, like the drama club and the music club
Admission
Eligibility: 55% in bachelor's degree, clearing the BHU-PET exam, now CUET exam The application form, dates and fees structure was on the official website and in the main office I did not avail of any benefits but there are category benefits and BHU student benefits The admission process is very easy, you just have to study hard. No improvements are needed.
