Good overall college

Overall a good college which thrives on the overall development of students.

Joint entrance test, i was interested in electrical engineering so i decided to go with it. I got around 6400 rank in JET, so i got admission in electrical engineering easily as in 2007 most students were opting for computer engineering and information tech. streams. At that time no interview were conducted. Admission was solely done according to the rank counselling.

Course structure was according to the syllabus of punjab technical university (now i.k.gujral university). Focus of the syllabus was overall development of student. Equal stress was divided between practical and theoretical knowledge. Combination of appropriate labs and classroom lectures were good for the overall quality engineering build up.

For B.Tech this college doesn't provide stipend internships, but obviously for post graduation courser stipend internships are available.

There is a special cell for placement & job opportunities headed by some experienced and veteran faculty. They do able to attract good chunk of companies in our college for placements. Placement percentage was arround 80-90% for every stream/branch. Civil and engineering mechanical engineering always mustered arround 100% of placements. So overall placement and jobs cell is always much concerned about placement yes they take it seriously.

Lot of extra curricular activities are being held by college. Quizes and trivias, dance competitions, technical fests annually, plays were being conducted by the college. This college has good playgrounds of hockey, cricket, tennis, basketball, handball, gymnasium etc. and good sports faculty is there to help always.

A lot of scholarships were provided by the college for eligible students. Scholarships for economically backword and sc/st students, educationally distinct students were available.

Campus life was good specially hostel life was really awesome. There is a common room with t.v. newspapers and magazines to entertain the students. Labs were well equipped. It was not really easy to spare time for extra curricular activities, but for interested students there are great opportunities available.

Fee structure was reasonable at that time, don't know whether the same structure is there or not. Mess was cooperative so overall expenditure was divided among the students. Hostel fee was arround 5000 per semester. So overall a reasonable fee structure w

There is a alumni hall in the college. Also an alumni meet is held annually. College informs the registered alumnies via an email and telephone. A good function is organised by the college in honor of the alumnies.
