Overall my experience and rating is good considering education, placements and overall grooming
Entrance Preview
CAT, 94.3 percentile, Good MBA rated college and had some seniors who had told me about their placements and studies.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was a good mixture which touched upon different aspects of business management. The first year had courses from all areas like marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Statistics, Business laws, Business economics. In second year we had to choose our own electives in the stream we were interested in.
Internships Opportunities
Yes a lot of companies came for summer internship. The overall experience was great as we got a lot of chances depending on our choices. Stipend could vary depending on companies.
Placement Experience
About 95% of the batch was places. We had a strength of 600 people so it shows that the placement committee was pretty strong. We got a lot of options and that too from top companies. The average CTC offered was around 8 lakhs per annum. Companies like HCL, Wave, DE Shaw, Idea, Microsoft to name a few.
College Events
We had a lot of events throughout the year. They were sports, technical, management fest. Some of them were were intra whereas other were inter college which gave a strong sense of competition to us. We were also invited to different colleges to participate in their fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
So the fees was around 18 lacs for the two years which included all the living expenses. It also took care of the food expenses. It was expensive but considering the quality of education and the corporate link IMT had, it was still not that expensive.
Fees and Financial Aid
We had different loan options which students could avail to fund their education. I did not need any so didn't do much research on this.
Campus Life
We had a great mixture of people across India, so it had a good diverse student base from different regions and cultures. There was diversity in terms of profession (prior to MBA) and the number of years of experience. There was a lot of focus on extracurricular activities like sports events, case studies and competitions.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities were average. We had to arrange our own coolers and there were no acs. So being in Ghaziabad heat it was hard living in hostel at times. Cleaners and laundry services were available as per use. The fees were included in the overall fees. The food quality was average as well. They made some changes every now and then. Non veg was available as well,
Alumni/Alumna
We had a separate alum club and a lot of alums were invited from time to time to interact and give talks.
Exam Structure
Exams were pretty hectic. There were about 8 subjects every semester. We were tested on not only theoretical knowledge but there were tests on practical. We were evaluated on group and individual projects. We had a lot of submissions in form of case studies and presentations, industry work.
Admission
Gave CAT got a good score of 94.3 percentile which was above their cut off of about 90 percentile. Applied online through filling out application and form and then got invited for group discussion and personal interview. Finally got selected after hearing from them.
Faculty
Th faculty was a good mix. There were faculty not only from IMT but from other esteemed colleges such as SP Jain, IIM C, IIM B and others. The faculty were all PHDs and had a lot of experience in teaching and were experts in their field. All in all it was one of the best focusing on practical as well as theory knowledge which made the learning experience great.
