Course Curriculum Overview

I am more interested in Coding So I took admitted to Computer Science and Engineering Department in this College. All faculty have done their Phd degree and many of them completed MTECH degrees from the reputed institute. Monthly tests are also taken apart from the CA exam.

Many companies like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Persistent etc visit our college and give opportunities to skilled students. Companies also provide some stipends with internships. Students gain a lot of knowledge and experience after industry work.

Fees and Financial Aid

It will cost approx 440000 to complete a B.tech degree from the computer science and Engineering department or from any other department. Many Scholarships like Swami Vivekananda scholarships, K2 Shree etc are available in this college. The government also provide financial help to needy students.

Campus Life

AEC FIESTA is an annual fest and tech fest is held yearly in the months of March or April. Approx 65000 books and journals are available in the Central Library of our College. Many sports events like cricket tournaments, volleyball, football etc are held a timely. Many Clubs like hardware clubs, Science Clubs, and coding clubs are also there.

Admission

Admission to Asansol Engineering College is taken through the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam(WBJEE) and also through Joint Entrance Exam(JEE). You can also take direct admission to this college. Once you clear the exam you have to participate in WBJEE counselling.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
