College management is quite good under the leadership of Padmabhushana Dr.Veerendra Hegde. Overall it was super life changing experience for me to study at SDMCET.

I took KCET. I got 1946 ranking. I choose this particular college because I wanted to pursue electronics and communication engineering. Mine was the first seat in this college for that particular year.

Course structure is pretty good as it is an autonomous institution. The course curriculum keeps on changing depending on what the industry needs. The faculty is vastly experienced and also the management is cooperative to bring in the necessary changes to the curriculum every year.

No college doesn't provide internship. There is no stipend either. For masters however there is opportunity to attend internship in the final year.

Placements are good. Every year nearly 50+ companies visit SDMCET for placements for various branches like ECE, EE, CSE, IS, MECHANICAL,CIVIL. Companies like TCS, ORACLE, DELPHI, BOSCH, TATA MOTORS, IBM, HP etc visit SDMCET. Every year at least 50-60% of students get placed easily.

There are many events which are frequently held at SDMCET. Mainly Techspin, Insignia. Insignia is the biggest techno-cultural fest held at SDMCET. It will be held for 3 days every year. Participants from all over the country arrive to take part in this fest. Many famous singers and dancers are invited for the evening cultural programs during this fest.

Fee structure is feasible. It depends on the ranking mainly. The course fee is defined by the state government which will be based on the ranking obtained in KCET. Overall it was ₹23500 plus additional tuition fee of around 3-4k is taken. Hostel and mess charges would come around 30k. Overall around 60k was the expenditure per year at SDMCET.

I was given an instant discount of ₹5000 by the principal when I went for admission. There is a separate scholarship wing which helps students to get benefits regarding scholarship.

Campus life is lovely, energetic and full of enthusiasm. There is diversity as students from all over country take admission into SDMCET and we can see all of them gelling together very well and maintaining great relationship. College students also participate in various activities like robotic competition held at Hyderabad, Bombay and all other various colleges.

Hostel was awesome. It was like staying in a 3 star hotel with all facilities. Free WiFi, 24/7 security, water supply, hygiene. The cleanliness at sdmcet is superb. Mess food was also good. 2 meals, 1 tiffin and 1 snack everyday. The food prepared was also different each day. The mess - Santrupti- was very hygienically maintained.

The alumni network of SDMCET is not that great. However we internally maintain a good network among friends but there is no such special network maintained by college.

Exams are in 2 phase. Internals and external examination. There would best of 3 internals meaning the best of 3 marks scored will be considered for final marks. One final external examination for 100 marks. Internal would be for 20 mark each. Final wight age is given as 50+50 for both internal and external.

Admission is through KCET. We have to write KCET and score good. Depending on the ranking a counseling would be called by the state government for all the available seats in the state, where we can select particular college based on our ranking. Next we have to carry the seat allotted receipt to the college and get the admission done.

Faculty is vastly experienced. There are many PhD holders and many since it is institution of more than 30 years of history, the expertise of the teaching faculty as well as the non teaching faculty can be highly rated. Overall the faculty at sdmcet can be credited to posses rich knowledge and expertise in technical aspects.
