A brief about IIITDM chennai

I chose this course (ECE) because our college is one of those colleges which ECE is famous for. The faculty-student ratio at IIITDM is quite good when compared to other colleges because of the no of students here being less. The ratio remains around 1:28. The faculty here is highly qualified. many of them here have done their PhDs from IIT Madras. some of them did from foreign universities as well. Each semester goes on for around four months more or less. For the first years, there will be mid-sem and end-sem. mid sem will be conducted after 1.5 months of the semester, and starting and end sem will be conducted 10 - 12 days before the semester ends. For the remaining years, there will be quiz 1, quiz 2, and end-sem.

Students become eligible for placements in their 4th year. 102+ companies visited and some of the major companies include Adobe, virtusa, Capgemini, Amazon, etc. The highest package offered is 32 Lpa by Gamescraft and the average of B.Tech batches lies between 11 Lpa. Around 97% have received placement offers. I would like to go and experience IT sector jobs related to development.

The fee is a little less than 1 lakh per semester. it will be around 86,000 to 95,000 and the fee hike will be around 3 - 4k per semester. There are no other expenses except for the books and records. The material needed for projects will be provided by the course faculty. I did not get any kind of scholarship being a general student but many of my classmates who belong to sc, st got a scholarship which gave them around 12,000 per semester. Tamil Nadu students also do get a chance to avail of a scholarship. People who pursue MTech or Ph.D. can do jobs as lab assistants, teaching assistants, or library assistants and they will get around 10k per month as a stipend.

Technical fest: Vashisht, This will be conducted either in March or in April just 20 days before the end-sem and there are a lot of activities to take part in and it will be a lot of fun. Cultural fest: Samgatha. This will be conducted after the 2-3 days of Vashisht and it goes on for 3 days with a lot of dance and music competitions and dramas. The last day will be loaded with lots of fun and memories. All kinds of books are available in the library. All the books needed for academics are available and can be issued for 2 months. Classrooms consist of fans lights and also ACs beside tables. There will be a projector, speakers, and mics for the professor. We have courts and grounds for every sport. The sports faculty are quite co-operative and there won't be any problem. There are some kinds of extracurriculars going on every day.

Each individual is provided with a cot, table, chair, and almirah in his/her room. Two occupancy for up to 3rd year and single occupancy for 4th years. The food quality is very good and tasty. The menu consists of a blend of south and north Indian foods, with south taking major portions. Registration is very simple and done right at the time of academic registration. I didn't take any room but they are available in the premises of Kandivali - Tambaram locality.

The candidate should be the 12th pass and should give JEE mains entrance exam. There is a reservation for sc, st, obc, ews categories and the college has also introduced girl reservations from this year onwards. The admission process has no flaws.
