Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because it was of my interest and it is a really Emerging field all over the world. The faculty of Jai Hind College for psychology is excellent and very experienced. There are two teachers who take the classes. The strength is about 150 students. The HOD was the Ex vice principal of the Humanities stream. The exams are divided into 40 and 60 marks, where the 40 is divided into 20-20, 20 for Assignments and project the other 20 for an online MCQ test. There are two semesters each with a 60-mark written offline paper.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for the course of Psychology for the first year is 7000 per year, and there is a little raise in the fees structure at second year and the third year. Later in the first year we were given info about a Summito scholarship which would only be offered to a limited number of students as per the criteria of the scholarship.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest of Jai hind college is SHOUT. It usually takes place in the month of Jan. There is conducted within the college and sometimes outside. The library is huge and have a variety of books that would help with studies projects and previous year's paper and guides are always available. There are two buildings, out of which one building is centralized Air conditioned and all the classrooms have AC and smart board and black Board. There are different clubs like Rotaract Club, NSS club, Gym Khanna, and Social Dramatic Union and all are very well handled in their respective motto. All these clubs are run by the students of Jai hind college.

Admission

Every student wanting admission to any college affiliated with Mumbai University has to fill out the MU forms prior to the college forms. MU forms are a compulsory requirement in the College forms. The forms for admission will be available at Jai Hindi College's official website. The forms are easy to fill. The fee for the form of the Jai Hindi college is Rs.250. For a BA student, there are no entrance exams, admission is purely on the basis of Merit. There is a Sindi Minority Quota. In the year 2022, 3 merit lists were announced. The third cutoff list for BA closing at 93%. The teacher's for Psychology are highly experienced and knowledgeable. The subject combos offered are also good and all the teachers are knowledgeable and good at their job. The college is just a 2 mins walk from the Churchgate station.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Quite substandard and below average. Prioritised rote learning over critical thinking. Just a rubber stamp for a degree. No actual education ever took place. Exams were anually or bi annually. Exams were difficult if you cannot write 30 pages in 3 hours.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.

Remarks:

Yes, there is no specific place where we get to know that whether the college is open or not on a specific day like the day which has been declared closed by the government. The college doesn’t provide this facility for us. We have to move all towards our home to the college to get this thing.
