I choose this course because the placement of this college in mechanical engineering is good in the field of welding and also I have pursued a diploma in mechanical engineering. Faculty to student ratio is 1:3. Most faculty are Ph.D., guest faculties are from m.tech. The teaching method is good as there are many labs for practical demonstration of theory taught and teaching faculty are well trained and experienced. There are a total of 3 exams and 2 quizzes in a semester, of which 2 is the minor exam and 1 is a major exam.

The student become eligible for placement at the very beginning of last year i.e. 7th semester. Some major companies visited are JSW, JSL, Khanna paper mill, Cheema boilers, ISGEC, SML, GEE weld, Kangaroo, Vardhman, HUL, etc. The no. of offers varies on the requirements of the companies minimum of 2 to a maximum of 20. The highest package in mechanical is 9.5 lpa offered by JSW. The average package is around 4.5 lpa. 50%students are getting placed from the mechanical branch. Will continue my job as I got one in campus placement.

The fee structure is about 32000 per semester, and the whole semester fee is nothing more than this. If you want to opt for an honours degree in welding or manufacturing, you must pay 5000 extra. The job I got through campus placement is a role of PAT in cognizant.

The annual cultural fest is hosted in the month of October and the tech fest is organized in the month of March. Almost all the required test books are available and some journals are also available in the central library of sliet, and the research works on various topics by sliet alumni are also available. Classes are equipped with digital classrooms and wifi facilities. classes also have smart air-conditioners. Many sports activities are provided here like football, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, squash, swimming, kabaddi, etc. The campus has a big stadium, and a well-facilitated sports ground, along with it each hostel has extra spaces for playgrounds and courts. yoga, music, singing, dancing, and painting are some of the extracurricular activities on the campus. The social group and clubs are Endeavor, happy club, junkyard, juggernaut, siviesa, mavericks, hackTekrs, science club, etc. The social handle run by students is Beauty of Sliet, siviesa, sliet happy club, etc.

The facilities provided in the hostel room are free wifi service, a wooden bed, chair, and table, and a proper ventilation system. Meals are good but not the best, need to compromise sometimes. Can opt for a hostel through sliet website portal, and every student who opts for a hostel gets it. There are few pg on the campus, and rented rooms are available in Longowal.

Eligible by giving SET-III. The application form can be found on the official website of SLIET. The application fee is about rs1800. The application date starts in the month of March. The reservation benefits are sc reservation, st reservation, and minority reservation. The admission process is well and fine, no need to change.
