Genuine review of SLIET, Longowal

I choose mechanical engineering in this college because here the Department of mechanical engineering is respected and renowned for its research works and the welding specialization. The students are divided into groups for every section and classes are held in groups wise one single group contains around 40Approx students. Here the teachers and faculty come from the experience of teaching at NITs & IITs almost all the professors are very Over qualified. So, Exams happen in two stages one is minor and another one is Major. Minors happen two times in a single semester and Major is the final exam.

Placements in the college are pretty fine and you get get the average package of around 4 Laks if you come from the core branches. The highest offer for mechanical students is around 10 lakh which is offered by the jsw, godrej etc. Around 50% of the students can get a placement form the college in this branch. My plan after passing out from college is to get admission into the Mtech program.

The cost of studying here is very affordable and pretty less as compared to other instituted as this college is funded by MHRD. The semester fees for the B.TECH student go around 34,500 Rupees for the semester. You can Avail of the scholarship if you have an income certificate of around income having less than 2 Laks per Annum. Another way to get the scholarship is to get a rank in the SET exam which was held for the entrance through the Lateral Entry Under 5 and you should have the income certificate.

TechFest and Annual cultural fest happen around the year where many students take part in the different roles such as coordinator and president etc. For the study and books section, there is a central library which is open for the students at night also. We have all the basic and technological instruments in the class such as smart board and other Amenities for the study. Sport is a bigger plus point for the students as there are many commodities available for you to be active in sports. There are many clubs of different varieties such as paddling clubs for cycle enthusiasts and endeavours for tech enthusiasts many more.

1. In the hostel of three seater which you get till pre final year there is one bed, one Almirah, one table, one chair for every student. 2. The meal quality is not that great but not that bad also and menu is pretty balanced. 3. Regestration process for the hostel is done while filling the 3rd sem fees for the lateral entry students and for the jee people its in the 1 st semester. 4. The hostel fees till the 6th semester is 3500 INR and for the final year where you get the single room its 4500INR.

The admission process for lateral entry is done by the SET exam which is taken by SLIET University for the lateral entry students The eligibility criteria for the exam is only a diploma of three years with no backlog in current The exam comprises three sections English, Maths & Technical of your particular field The exam is of total 150 Marks and the cutt of for the general candidates goes around 50 Marks or rank under 30 You can get benefits if you have a reservation and can get Admission to SLIET
