What Students Say
Likes
- The student like is easy and fun with a lot of activities to do.
- Placements are fairly high which is a good thing.
Dislikes
- faculty can be annoying to deal with given the government nature of the college.
- infrastructure is lacking in some places as there is no proper place to sit.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because ECE in PEC is a reputed course with high placements up to 84 LPA. The faculty is well qualified and teaching is done through PPTs which makes the learning process smooth and easy but some faculty is quite lazy and don't give a lot of time to the students. The exams were conducted in a hurry given the COVID batch.
Internships Opportunities
Companies such as JP Morgan and Mackenzie, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, etc. come in with stipends ranging from 30k to 60k. These companies offer projects in both the financial aspect and software aspects for CSE jobs.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements after the 7th semester and the packages go up to 80 LPA in ECE and companies such as JP Morgan, and Goldman Sachs visit the college. In my course, around 90% of students get placed. The highest package is 84 LPA and the average is 15 LPA. My plans after the degree include getting an MBA degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost of studying is definitely higher than other government colleges with hostel fees being extremely high at around 80k per year. The scholarships are mostly just available for defense quota students.
Campus Life
PEC FEST was conducted recently in Nov 2022 and it was fairly nice. The library is full of books of all kinds from course books to fiction books. The classrooms are well-equipped with ACs and whiteboards for virtual learning. The clubs I'm active in are SAASC and WEC. SAASC is the debating society and WEC the Women Empowerment CELL.
Admission
Admission was through JEE MAINS examination with ECE cutoff opening at rank 15k and closing at 29k for the General category home state quota. The admission process was completely taken care of by the JOSAA and CSAB websites and it was fairly easy to follow the instructions. One improvement I'd like to propose is the process being made quicker.
