VNIT NAGPUR OVERALL REVIEW

I had interst in mechanical engineering. so I opted for it, in NIT's and IIT's professors dont spoon feed you, its upto you how much intersted are you towards your studies. They will definitely help if you are genuinely intrested towards projects and reacerch. Professors are good but some of them will have knowledge but they cannot express it. as i said in these colleges you are responcible for your own. In my depaetment there are 30 faculty members for 480 students i.e 1:16.All of the professors are docterate holders, it PhD. But new professors will need some time to get adopted towards the environment. Believe me the teaching method and the methodology that our colleges follow is outdated, our senior most professors admitted it. basically there will bw a mid semister and an end semister exams in one semister.

internships are offered by some companies from both core and non core with stipend range from 25-40 k and some IT companies offer upto 1 lack stipend. but only some will get internship. you need to have decent knowledge in a programming language like C++ and DSA to crack interview in IT and knowledge in thermodynamics, strength of materials, TOM, and core subjects to crack interview in core and you need to mention some projects in cor and non core which increases the probability

in 3 rd year internship cycle will be opened which provides internships and in in 4th year placement cycle will be opened, our seniors are mostly placed un core companies, BPCL had hired 4 students with 18.95 LPA package which is highest of our branch and average is 8LPA max all got placed, remaining students had either backlog or opted for higher studies, all exept them are placed. after degree i want to get a decent packagein a reputed company

The fee structure is based up on category ( i.e caste) for sc/st it will be 4000 per semister and for OBC and OC there will be fee wavier based upon theri income certificates. you need to pay the college fee first then you will get ti reambersed by the governament. As i am an general ctegory studeny and my father salary was above 8LPA I need to pay total amount and i will not get the money reambersed

our annual cultural fest is AAROHI which willbe conducted durinh oct last week or nov first weekand our tech fest is conduvted by AXIS in march. Our college library is fully sofesticated.It consists of selected text books of a particular course which may or maynot be followed by the faculty member. our college consists of a CLASS ROOM COMPLEX (CRC} building which is new building, every class cosists of 2 projectors and some classes are equiped wth smart screen board [ unacadamy,byjus uses these type of bards for teaching] and top 2 floors i.e 5,6 are equpped with ac.Our college has newly built swimming pool but need to pay an entry fee, it contains an indoor sports complex with 4 batminton courts and a hall with 4 table tennis tables, first floor for yoga, it consists of volleyball courts, a football court, 2 kho kho courts, 2 nets for crickrt and a ground for crickrt and 2 basket ball court and 2 tennis courts.many clubs are running actively like octaves, hallabol, team velocity e.t.c

1,2 years are provided with a room with 2 beds , 3,4 year students are provided with single room with 1 fan, 1 tubelight, a pair of study table and chair with lan facility for internet. Internet is facility is great, our college food is not that much good, i rate it below average, it will take some time to get adjusted with it, it needed to be improved, our seniors says that it was improved , earlier it was too bad. you need to enroll for hostel by paying 40 k for semister which is too high but we have too. they will release a notification and we need to pay through VNIT website.

you need to clear JEE MAINS exam and score a decent rank. Your admission into different NIT's will be based on your rank and category i.e caste. After getting a good rank you need to opt for counciling on JOSAA website. JOSAA is an organisation which looks after your admission processes in to different NIT's. Basically you need to set a preference choice of colleges including branches which only will be considered during your admission process. There will be 7 rounds , after 7th round your college will be finalised. Admission procedure and guidelines through JOSAA is a big stuff, so i cannot explain it here, you can see videos on youtube, better to approach a senior who had gone through it. After JOSAA, second councilling van be done through CSAB which will be filling the empty seats that were left durnig JOSAA, it consists of 2 round. then i had recieved a call from my college and further process was explained.
