Likes

First of all we have got some outstamding teachers.
Here the Hostel facility is much more affordable as compared to PG or room rent.
Various sports are practised and played such as Cricket, Volleyball, Tennis etc.

Dislikes

Weather condition particularly in summer is peculiarly unmanageable.
For ATM services you have to go to a distance of approx 2 km.
The college is situated on the outskirts of the city.

Course Curriculum Overview

My course is Mechanical Engineering (B.Tech). Here, we have got our most experienced professors who passed away from different IITs. Here, we get approx. 5-6 months for each semester. And it's quite tough to pass away with a good SGPA.

Class Size: 75Course Fees: INR 25800 per year

Placement Experience

In our Institute, the students start doing internships from the 4th semester onwards. Companies such as Webel, Infosys, etc. visits for placement. The average package offered by the Institute is nearly about 3.6- 7 lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure here is much more affordable. Our odd semester fees are nearly about 12k and even semester fees are about 13k. Also, the Institute provides scholarships to students such as SVMCM, NSP, and much more.

Campus Life

Recently, in Feb 2023, we passed our Sports and Cultural Fest Kristitarang 2k23. Also, the Tech Fest -Pratispardha was conducted from Feb - March 2023. Moreover, we have got a Central Library in our Institute which provides us with each and every book required. Sports such as Cricket, Volleyball, Football, Carrom.

Hostel Facilities

The most amazing part is our Hostel accommodation facility. The hostels are inside our college campus only and the rooms are quite large for a single person and perfect for two. Alongside the mess also provides us with good quality meals every day.

Hostel Fee: INR 55000 per year

Admission

I have been here through JEE Mains examination. And my AIR was 80519. The cut-off here for JEE mains is nearly about 70 percentile and above and you can also apply through WBJEE. After the online counseling, you can easily get application forms after you pay the Josaa /Csab fees.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

My JEE scores were not sufficient for me to secure a seat in CSE in any college. Although i had applied to some semi government ones like IPU in delhi and had got a seat in ECE in the main campus, i opted for this one instead keeping the fee structure in mind. Also im a native bengali so i was not willing to travel to delhi for my academics. Though i regret that decision and would not recommend anyone to settle for a college nobody has heard of when you can have a better one instead. I had been selected for NIT Agartala as well in Mechanical branch but ofc i opted for a better branch.
