Remarks

Overall it was a nice experience. We made new friends with multicultural experience . We still stayed best of friends

Entrance Preview

I took the entrance exam conducted by the University. I took the exam in Delhi as that was the nearest centre available. I took the AIEEE too but my rank was better for this university .

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure was good, keeping in mind that first yr students should get all round education . Except for the information technology subject Which lacked proper instructer badly and considering one third of the students were enrolled in that subject, I seriously though they should have done better. After the joint first yr, students were seperated to there respective departments.

Internships Opportunities

No, that was not available at that time. But we were encouraged to do that anywhere we wish. I completed mine near my home when i went for summer holidays after the exams.

Placement Experience

4

Very very good. Despite the recession remours the placement was amazing. I my self got placed with the first company came to recruit civil engs. IT placements were done done in the very beginning and almost every student got job with good starting package .

College Events

3

My college used to celebrate different feats department wise but then all the events were fused into once big fest called Bhartiyam which will go for 2 weeks and every department were slotted in to show there stuff. Activities such as group discussion , debate , quiz , pentathlon etc were conducted to increase students confidence and groom them for the corporate world so that they can stand out.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I went to the college 10 yrs ago and @ that time i thought it was compatative with other prestigious universities but then again it was a decade back and with the inflation and all It has increased but then again there are significant improvement in the infrastructure and facilities for the students .

Fees and Financial Aid

No, i do not have any idea abt that perticular question. However education loans are available with all the renowned banks and there were several banks nearby the college , so that should not be a major issue .

Campus Life

3

The gender ratio in an engineering college is as expected with low girls to boys. My class has 2 girls with 25 boys which was same for core departments but it was considerably good for IT , Comp and Electrical departments . There were several sports tournaments organized in our college , cricket , football , badminton to name a few. Robotics was the heart of electronics and comp departments. Overall, It covered the interests of all the students . Most of the students were of hindi speaking states.

Hostel Facilities

2

The hostel was avarage . The mess was good in the beginning and that declined fast with time there. There were several food strikes asking for improvement in the food. However there are other hostel facilities and independent housing available outside the campus which provided better and cleaner environment . Also there are better mess facilities available out side with good quality food and pricing . since it qas compulsory to eat in hostel mess for students staying in college hostel we frequently asked the authorities to change that but they didn't .

Alumni/Alumna

As an alum i get once a yr gather invites and emailed new letters about activies and upcoming events.

Exam Structure

As a student we hate exams , so that indicates it was good and compatative. Exams were held once a semester for 5 days in alternative setting. The paper consisted of 2 sets with 5 questions in each sets and had to complete any 3 in allocated time whixh was 3 hrs with exceptions for certain subjects.Options were available in questions. Students need to study smart. Practice exams were conducted before the theory papers.

Admission

I went for counselling after the results were declared. We attended the seminar which basically covered everything there was to know abt the University before enrolling. We had a joint discussion with department HODs when my rank was called and opted for my major on the spot. I already had a couple in mind and after discussing my options with my Parents and HOD Civil, who stood out among them , I choose Civil Eng as my Major. We had to fill and submit the admission forms and fees on the spot to secure the seat and voila done. We got all the necessary things done at the administration department and went off to get a spot in the student hostel facility . There too we showed tge admission letter, filled the hostel forms , deposited the hostel fees and done. The hotel was over crowded for the time so dormatory was arranged for our stay. The security was great and mess food edible .

Faculty

4

As i mentioned earlier except for IT in first yr, faculty was great for all other subjects. From second yr being in our chosen departments the experience was good and it gave us depth. Well experienced faculty with knowledge and understanding of field is what we need and thats what we got. A well balanced frame with solid foundation . Civil eng pun.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
