As per now, it is open campus so there is little concern of security as outsiders generally pass through our campus. College administration is working at fast rate to make it close campus and in coming 1 year, it will be close campus.

GATE, Score 456 (CE). One of the oldest college in India and that time it was on the verge to become IIT.

Course curriculum is approved by Board of Governors (BOG) and was revised in 2015. Research wise the curriculum is properly designed and every aspect of Environmental as well as Science is included in detailed. IIT (ISM) Dhanbad comes on top as compared to other IIT's in field of research and Department of Environmental Engineering also contributing its best in the field of research.

For B.tech they might provide internship but our department does not provide internship for M.tech scholars.

In almost every departments, placement for B.Tech is very good. Around 60-70 % of students are placed in reputed companies and the average package is around 12-15 lakhs and highest is around 38-42 lakhs. But for M.Tech, placements are not so good. In our department out of 35 M.tech scholars only 12 were placed.

Many events takes place which includes Srijan, Basant , Annual Sports and other departmental events. Students from various colleges like IIT's and NIT's participates in these events and popular music bands also perform in the cultural event (Basant).

Fee structure is affordable for PG courses. For M.tech it is around Rs 40,000 including hostel and mess charges. But for B.tech it is costly. Hostel and Mess charge is Rs 15000 per semester. Hostel facilities are not that good but it is okay and food also is okay type.

They provide TEQIP scholarship to those M.tech students who have scored above 9 CGPA in their 1st year and are not receiving any kind of GATE or any other stipend.

Campus life is good but not that great when compared to IIT Delhi or IIt Bombar or IIT Roorkee. Gender ratio is improving and students from every part of India are coming. Also students from outside India are also studying here. Sports facilities are very good with a very good Students Activity Center complex. We have swimming pool and Health Center. Campus is improving as a shopping complex is under construction and CCD outlet have also opened recently.

There are separate hostels for boys and girls. For boys in each room, two students are accommodated. Rooms are small when considered two person staying in the same room. Cleaning facility and Food is not that great but it is good. New hostels are under construction and they are well designed.

Alumni of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad are in every parts of India and also outside India. They are really helpful as they provide us training in various reputed companies and also help us in guidance.

In every semester, we have two exams. One is mid sem and other is end sem. Classes including labs are really hectic and it starts from 8 am in the morning till 12 and then from 2:30 to 5:30. Labs are well equipped and we have 2 hours labs for three days in a week.

It was through GATE 2016. After advertisement published, we were told to fill the specified IIT (ISM) Dhanbad M.tech admission form which costed Rs 2000 and then on basis of GATE score, I got admission in this college. The procedure was good as most of the things were done online. On final call we arrived at the campus and that day the whole process was completed within 6 hours.

Faculties are of top level with very good knowledge of their subjects as well as other subjects related to Environmental engineering. All the faculties have very good experience of at least 6-8 years and have their PhD from IIT or NIT. They try their level best in classroom teaching as well as guidance. All the faculties have published many research papers in very good journals.
