Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the Computer Science and Engineering course as I was interested to study in it. The faculty: student ratio is also good as it is around 1:20.Each student has a faculty mentor throughout the course. The faculties are Ph.D. and have a standardized and innovative method of teaching so the students can understand easily. The exams are held twice a semester and other continuous evaluations like vivas and quizzes are organized by the faculty. The exams are quite difficult to pass and need proper study throughout the semester.
Internships Opportunities
The internships are provided by various companies to the students and each student has to compulsorily do an internship after completing their 6th semester in the summer break. The roles offered are software development, AI/ML development, Data Analyst, Data scientist, Full Stack Web Developer, and the average stipend offered is around 7000-10000. The projects offered company YHonk gave a project to sort the data collected by them and find out how many horns a bus honk daily in the city of Mumbai. They have installed their device in the public busses and gather the data daily and we have to perform analysis on it.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible for placement after they complete the 6th semester out of the 8 semesters. Companies like Amazon, Google, Jio, Reliance, Groww, TCS, Wipro, and Infosys visit every year and give offers to students. The highest package offered is 36LPA and the lowest package offered is 2.4LPA and different roles are offered to the students as per their domain, like software developer, data analyst, software engineer, and full stack developer. More than 80% of students are placed who opt for placements from college. My plan after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies abroad.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for the CSE course is 2,40,000 Rs. per year. The fees are not hiked for the students every year, The fees are hiked for the new admissions, The cost to study is a little high but worth it once the student completes the course. Students can also find new job opportunities and internships during the semester breaks. Many companies offer internships to students of PDEU and also provide an average stipend of 7000-10000Rs. Reliance also gives scholarships to eligible students based on merits.
Campus Life
Tesseract is the technical fest which is held around the month of February and the cultural fest named Flare is held in the month of April. The library is well developed and there are in total 4 libraries in the university each for a particular school and has a great collection of books and journals for various topics. Classrooms are also well-built and have whiteboards, smart boards, and central AC. Sports and extracurricular activities are promoted by the college and there are almost 40 clubs managed by students which organize events every month, the sports tournaments are also organized 3-4 times in a year.
Admission
The admission process at PDEU is merit-based and Indian and NRI students both can apply. Eligible candidates can check the official details on the university website. The forms, fees, and dates for the application can be checked on the website of the university. The admission process must be more transparent and reservations for the different categories should be changed.
