PHYSIOTHERAPY AT NIMS UNIVERSITY

I always had this urge to be in a medical profession and a Bachelor of Physiotherapy is a professional medical course that enables us to practice as professional Physiotherapists. Faculty-student ratio at NIMS University is average, we have like 350+ students in class and it is too difficult for professors to teach all of us in the same class sometime. Faculties are well-qualified and have good teaching methods, they make sure that students are understanding and conceptualizing the syllabus. Exams are conducted semester wise and if you have attended the lectures then it is of moderate level for you.

For Bachelor of Physiotherapy, NIMS University offers internships only in their hospital and that internship is without a stipend. During the internship, we get to handle so many cases from different departments like ortho, neuro, and pedia, and also we get to attend clinical postings from 2nd year and a lot of workshops during the course.

There are no fixed fee hike policies of the University although they can increase the fees whenever they want. Usually, the fee hike is approx. 5k-10k yearly. Scholarships are provided to students on a merit basis, students who have secured more than 60% marks in 12th boards are eligible for scholarships in their 1st-year tuition fees. In BPT after 4years we have to complete 6 months of compulsory internship without a stipend at NIMS hospital only.

Campus life at NIMS University is soo great as we have a lot of fun activities that the university organizes regularly, like sports events, Dj nights, cultural programs, etc. We have 3 libraries on our campus and the central library has a good collection of books and also a computer section for students with Wi-Fi facilities. All the classrooms are well equipped with smartboards and projectors for faculties to deliver their lectures. There are various social groups created by students for different activities like, sports groups, cultural programs groups, and also some religious groups.

In the hostel, we have options for 4/3/2/1 seater rooms with or without AC. For different prices ranging from 80000 to 300000 per year, which includes mess and laundry facility. Mess food is okay and not that bad as compared to other hostels and universities nearby. But yes a lot of improvement can be done. The registration process is easy, we have to complete a few paper works at the time of admission, and based on availability the hostel is allotted. Nearby PGs are also available and they are preferred by students as they don't have late-night entry timing and permission issues, and students have more freedom there. PGs are more affordable than hostels and hence it is better to stay in PGs.

For Bachelor of Physiotherapy, the candidate must have passed class 12th boards (PCB) with more than 50% of marks. Application forms are available online at the university's website between January to September, and the form fee is 800. There are no reservation benefits in any admission or academic process. Improvement can be made in the university's management.
