The admission will be purely on the basis of the performance in the SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE (UG)) conducted by SRM University. The candidates short-listed based on their performance in the entrance examination will be called for the counseling to be held at the SRM University premises in Chennai

The courses are purely based on the knowledge given in the classes soon after the lecture it is being practiced in the practical lab. even there are some special courses to increase our communication skills such as Soft skills. It also gives you an opportunity to study abroad in the third and fourth years respectively, by this program called as "Semester Abroad Program-SAP".

no!! the college wont provide any internship for 2nd and 3rd year students . the sudent has to get internship from outside.

The placements are above average and better than most private colleges. This year, some of my seniors in ECE got placed on the campus in Amazon at 12 lakhs pa. Also, one senior in CSE got placed in Google, although the number is only one. The rest got placed in mass recruiters. But the number of students placed in core companies is higher this time. The quality is increasing year after year. Companies like Tisco, Tata, TCS, Accenture, Amazon, Google, BSNL, Vodafone, etc. visit the campus. The highest salary is 42 lakhs by Google and the lowest is 2 lakhs by the mass recruiters. The students here start internships in the 2nd year itself in companies of their choice by companies like BSNL and Air India for ECE and electric supply boards for EEE and in IT companies for CSE students.

yes!! the fees is affordable . As compared to the other private colleges the price is totally fine . now a days the minimum fees in private colleges is 4 lpa whereas in srm it is only 1.5lpa. for all the btech students it is same.

The scholarships given in srm university is divided in 5 categories: SRM Founder’s scholarship-100%, SRM Merit Scholarship-50% to 75%, Socio-Economic Scholarship-25% to 100%, Differently-abled Scholarship-25% to 100%, SRM Arts and Culture scholarship-25% to 100%.

The college has many different types of playground but as you can say they wont have that many opportunities to show your inner talent.

There are different category of hostels. Air conditioned room with attached bathroom(1,54,000). Non A/C with attached bathroom(56,500). Non A/C with common bathroom(44,500). If you want a hostel with the 1st or 2nd category, then you don't have much of a choice, because there are only one block each providing those facilities.For the 3rd category, there are few blocks. Mostly in first year the students stay in I or J block. Preferably on the upper floors because due to the height, nice wind blows. So first see which category of hostel you want to stay in. There is not much to do in maintainence part, they are quick to solve any electrical or hardware issue mostly within a day. However, common bathrooms stink and sometimes are jammed.initially tastes good and the variety of dishes is quite appealing. But it grows on you very quickly and within no time, not only does it become bland and tasteless, you tend to eat outside at your expense.

The exams are held frequently depending on the course and the there will be two exams in a day and there will be only one hour break between two consecutive exams and it really makes students tired and stress. it really give pressure to the students as they have to prepare for the two exams at a time.

All professors are a minimum post graduate in their particular subject. Many of them are also Ph.D. in that field. Although the student teacher ratio is a bit on higher side, a particular faculty can be approached when needed. The lab attendants are well qualified for practical studies. Faculty members are mainly from south India. They are highly qualified and supportive. Foreign faculty members are also coming here for guest lectures.Teaching methods are generally exam based which is for getting marks in the exam. The student-faculty ratio is around 30:1.
