i am pursuing my b.tech from abacus institute of engineering and management through wbjeeb exam. I got this college in the first round of counselling in wbjee. So,i went up to this college and took admission there. No,there were no interview process.I had an interest in electronics field so,i took up electronics and communication as my department.
Course Curriculum Overview
We live in a world of technology so studying something which has so much practical applications is a worth interesting.i loved my course because the subjects it had were very interesting and the teachers also taught us in a very good way. The course is mainly focused on practicality of it.All the subjects had theory as well as practical classes ,so,both were being balanced by the faculty.
Internships Opportunities
Yes,i was provided an internship by ADsque. its a Bangalore situated company and an unpaid internship of 6 months.The experience was good as i got to learn a lot of things about IT industry.
Placement Experience
The placement is good in our college but we don't have on-campus we have pool campusing which becomes difficult for many students to get a job.Near about 30-50% students gets placed by this but that's not enough.Till now Microsoft,CGI,Virtusa,Adobe,Directi etc...are the major companies that came with an average package of 30-40 lakhs p.a.
College Events
Yearly we have three events in our college teachers day,fresher's welcome and cultural fest.The 1st two are done with a small budget but the fest is done with a big budget.Bands or other artists are invited and the college authorities and the entire students and faculties do a great contribution and cooperation in it.That is why the programs turns out always to be a successful event.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees structure was a little expensive for me .At the time of admission it took 69,000 and after that per semester 38000-40000.
Campus Life
Yes, I got a lot of opportunities in extra-curricular apart from studies. The memorable moments of these four years will be cherished throughout my life where I actually got to see the real face of the outer world and really learned a lot from it.
Hostel Facilities
yes, i was residing at college hostel because my college is quiet far from my home and i had a lot of problem while dong daily passenger. I shared my rooms with my classmate .The hostel charge was quiet expensive as per the accommodation and fooding is concerned but affordable.I had to pay 3,500 per month for it. The food was of the worst quality it could have and accommodation also was not proper.
Exam Structure
yes, continue classes and labsdo made us feel very tired at the end of the day but still we enjoy every moment chilling and gossiping with friends.
Faculty
There are several departments in our college including teaching and non-teaching staffs.their qualification depends on their work and what their post is. Normal teaching faculties of our college have done M.tech and some have completed Phds and have teaching experience above 8-10 years..The faculty is quiet good because they are very interactive and help us in every possible way.The electronics department teachers are quiet qualified and they teach us in a very good way that is easy to understand and grab it.
