Course Curriculum Overview

5

I decided to choose MA in Economics as I loved the economics subject and I wanted to build up a successful professional career in an economics-related field. The faculty and student ratio at the Amity was above average. There was a sufficient number of faculty at the university to teach each subject. The faculty was well-educated and experienced. They were very kind to all students and clarified the doubts of students every time without any hesitation. Term exams were conducted at the end of each semester and it was a bit difficult but not hard to pass the exams.

Internships Opportunities

5

Summer Internship Programs are conducted for Amity students who completed their first year of education. Top national and global companies arrive at the Amity to pick interns. The stipend is offered based on the eligibility of the students and the roles provided by the companies. I received a fair amount as a stipend during my internship. The internship helped me to understand the basic operations of the company and its networking considerably.

Placement Experience

5

The university promised 100% placements. Above 90% of my batchmates received placements and others decided to study further. From 3rd semester onwards, students are eligible for campus placements. Famous National and International companies come for campus placements at the Amity. Companies visit for campus placements include Honda, Dell, Amazon, CITI Bank, Accenture, Yes Bank, Bajaj Allianz, HCL, EY, Lava, etc. The average package offered was 6 LPA per annum and the highest package was 60 LPA. My plan after getting the degree was to pursue higher education and elaborate my understanding knowledge more in Economics.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee for MA in Economics at Amity University Noida is Rs. 240000 (2 years). The first year fee will be Rs. 120000. It can be paid in two instalments. Rs. 60000 can be paid in the 1st semester and the pending Rs. 60000 can be paid in the 2nd semester. The same fee and payment policy is applicable in the second year as well. A 100% Scholarship is provided to students based on the eligibility criteria and scrutiny of the scholarship committee. Scholarships are offered in different categories including Sports Scholarship, Martyr's Scholarship, Continuation of Scholarships, Corporate Scholarships, Scholarships in post-graduate programs, and Scholarship in Graduate programs. Financial assistance is provided to the students who are eligible and in need. The committee will make a thorough check to ensure that the student is eligible for financial help. The eligible students will receive 100% financial assistance.

Campus Life

5

Life at the Amity University campus was one of the main highlights of my studies. The university has a massive library where plenty of students can sit at a time to read the books. A variety of books, journals, and research papers are available for students at the library. The classrooms of Amity University are well-furnished and air-conditioned. Classrooms are well maintained, offer modern amenities, and provide a great ambience for learning. The annual fest and tech fest were conducted to reveal the unique abilities of students and celebrities were invited for these fests. Sports amenities include areas for cricket, badminton, tennis, basketball, etc. The swimming pool is also available. Social groups and clubs were there in the university which allowed us to take part in the different activities of these clubs and groups. It helped me to get some refreshment and enjoyment.

Hostel Facilities

5

Ac and Non Ac rooms were available at Amity University. I picked a non-ac room and it was really good. AC rooms had attached bathrooms, refrigerators, cable TV, sofa, etc. Laundry services were available. Friendly warden and security were there 24 hours. The hostel food was really good. The menu had veg and non-veg food items. The kitchen is clean and neat. A large dining room is available. The hostel registration form will be available at the university or hostel and fill it out. Then submit it to the authorities and they will make a close look the at form filled. If all the criteria are met, hostel admission will be okay. The hostel fee is Rs.85000. The locality of the hostel is excellent as many important landmarks like hospitals are situated near the hostel.

Admission

The eligibility for the MA Economics course at Amity University Noida is Bachelor's Honours Degree in Economics (agg.50%). Applicants with bachelor's Pass degrees (agg. 50%) with economics (min. 60%) are also eligible to apply for MA in Economics. Applicants can find the application form on the official website of Amity University. The application fee for MA Economics is 1100 and the money is non-refundable. Application date at the Amity University Noida starts in the first week of January and ends in the last week of June. Reservation is available as per the regulations mentioned by the university and it is within legal permissibility. The admission process is easy and it will be completely based on the marks of the entrance exam, merit, and performance in the interview. The admission process is smooth but the time length can be reduced a bit.

Interview Experience

5

There was an English written test, interview, and extempore for the Amity admission. The topics for the written test and interview were manageable. The topics were completed related to academic aspirations and general knowledge. The admission process included Submitting applications for Admission, Application Screening, and Selection Process which included written test, interviews or general discussions, and in the end, the announcement of application results. I prepared for the exams by reading the latest news, reading books that focus on general knowlegde, watching the news, going through journals, and getting tips from friends who studied at the Amity.

Other Applied Colleges

Galgotias University - [GU] | Master of Arts [MA] (Economics)

I didn't go for Galgotian University because it didnt have the facilities that i wished for. The fees system was a bit complicated. They also dont have a satisfying placement ratio compared to Amity University Noida. Internship oppotunities were also limi

Placement Experience:

The placement here at Sharda was too good. Students start attending the Placement interviews and calls from the last semester. I was personally made into 4 companies and 4 offer letters were offered to me. The average package is 3.8 lakhs per annum and highest was about 11 lakhs. There is 100% placement in every dept. but it depends on students if they want to attend or not. After getting the degree i studied for my PhD entrace and now i am working.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since I wanted to become an English Professor, the course really helped me a lot in getting an insight into English Literature. The professors are very encouraging. The curriculum not only relies on the traditional method of teaching but also various co curricular activities are conducted to prepare the students for the real world. Each student is given an opportunity to prove herself. As the exams are conducted annually we get a lot of time to prepare accordingly.

Remarks:

Overall, I can say that my experience of the college for postgraduate degree is good as of now. Although the course is good, but, I would want more focus to be put on practical learning because after all, it is a practical subject. Other than that, I am content with the facilities provided by the college. I was very interested in the subject and love it personally, so it is a great experience for me.
