Remarks

Good- Comfortable infrastructure, great societies Bad- much better teaching is possible and the authority in the hand of students must be avoided for better functioning of the college

Entrance Preview

My college comes under Delhi University and so I got process by the standard process for the admission, i.e. on the basis of percentage I got in 12th standard (Best of 4). I heard about this college from some other friends of mine and this is what I was getting with my percentage so I joined this college. There was no interview process for admission as it is purely based on merit. I chose this course because I had commerce in 12th standard and this is what I could get with my percentage.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Some people like the course and some people dislike the course. Wel, I'm pretty much neutral about the course. The B. Com program involves basic commerce subjects like Finance, Economics, Accountancy, Indian Taxation. Apart from this, there are some additional courses too which a student studies in a span of 3 years. Not that much of focus on practical learning is given in the course, apart from some real life-related questions.

Internships Opportunities

Students do not get any internship opportunities from the college as there is no separate department for that. I haven't got any internship from the college so cannot comment on the experience and stipend. Well, the college does facilitate teaching part-time useful courses like related to stock market, language etc.

Placement Experience

4

The placement scenario in the college is quite good as we have campus recruitment by 3 companies from the *BIG 4* for commerce department (I don't know about other department's placement). I don't know about the percentage of students getting placed. Other companies like Concentric also visit the college. Average package is around 3.5 lakh.

College Events

4.5

Just like every other Delhi University college, we have events going all throughout the year which includes various societies and departments events. ARSD hosts the 'Longest theatre festival in Delhi University' which witnesses a great footfall. Other events include Youth conclave, College fest etc. Average footfall cannot be commented upon. College authorities are quite supportive for the same.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Delhi University is overall not that expensive and so does ARSD. My college fee is approximately Rs. 10000 per year that makes it Rs. 30000 for my total undergraduate education. It is because of such low fee that students from the low economic background can also pursue their education. Other college-related expenses apart from the fee are also not too much.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fee is already very low so I don't think anyone needs a scholarship. I do not know about any scholarship program run by the college, but, if Delhi University runs any scheme, then ARSD does follow it. No, the college doesn't help in getting a loan and so students have ti make the arrangements themselves if they need one.

Campus Life

4

The environment for extra-curricular activities is just excellent. There are various societies in the college, ranging from Debating society to Theatre society. Students are actively involved in the societies and conduct events throughout the year. I explored a lot of my inner talent in the field of theatre, in the college and I'm happy about it. The facilities are good for extra circulars.

Hostel Facilities

4

ARSD premises don't have hostels and so students have to live in flats or PGs near the Satya Niketan market. Most of the students are day scholars and others (who aren't from Delhi/NCR) occupy Flats and PGs in the nearby area.

Alumni/Alumna

My interaction with my seniors was excellent and they guided me at every step. They are the ones who help students whenever students cannot find out any solution after asking their teachers. Yes. Totally. The alumni network has a lot to contribute in college's overall development.

Exam Structure

My college, ARSD follows standard exam pattern of Delhi University and so I have only Mid-semester exam and End semester exams. Apart from that few, assignments in the semester so, all in all, I can say that exams are a chill culture. I really don't feel that much tired from college studies at the end of the day.

Faculty

3

I personally don't think that teachers are that experienced, maybe because they are unable to teach what is in their mind. Some teachers, of course, are, qualified but many or not that much qualified. I rarely found teachers interact with the students and so I think the standard of teaching is average.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
