Remarks

The ambiance of the college is quite friendly but there is a need to improve placement cell. It has enhanced my vision and improved me as a person.

Entrance Preview

I got this college on merit basis. SPM comes under Delhi University. And though this University has started admissions on entrance too.. but for B.com hons it follows conventional criteria of merit in which if a student has got percentage as per the cut off list . He/she is qualified to get the admission in that given subject. I chose B. Com hons as my discipline of graduation because I wanted to go into cooperate sector.

Course Curriculum Overview

Being a very popular course B.com hons has always been on the top choice. It's a course which unfolds several opportunities from cooperate sector to teaching or banking.

Internships Opportunities

Yes college provide unpaid internship which demands lot of concentration and focus. I did not work as college intern.. though I worked for 2 months.

Placement Experience

The placement cell is not so active and hardly 2-3 of the companies came this year. SPM needs to improve it's placement cell.

College Events

Our college organised annual fest aghaaz which last 3 days.. it has various events from dance competition, solo completion to gaming , photography , fashion show. We also have seminars and departmental fest for various courses.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very moderate it is extremely affordable. It cost 10-15 k per annum.

Yes college provides scholarship to meritorious students.

Campus Life

Yes we have various societies for different caliber such as photography, singin, dance , acting etc.

SPM does not provide hostel accommodation . We have paying guest houses nearby the college premises.

Exam Structure

Delhi University organised exams semester wise. We have theory of 75 marks and 25 marks of internals of that respective subject.

Faculty

Lecturers are very amiable and extremely cooperative. Almost all of them have a phD degree.

Shyam lal college not on my wishlist

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Underrated College- An honest opinion

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

All about SRCC life, exposure, placements, faculty and my experience

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...

My view regarding my college

Remarks:

Academically you can choose it but if you are looking for some fancy institution with some best infrastructure and fancy canteen I won't suggest you this college. But this college has one of the very best cricket team and one of our student named Mayank dagar is leading Indian National under-19 team. So I think you understand the impact.

SPMCW is Special!!

I applied at colleges such as LSR and Gargi purely because they were also girls colleges and are above ranked than my college. In DU though a proper merit system works and in that merit my score couldn't get admission in those two colleges.
