Remarks

Pec is an awesome college situated in one of the best cities of India. It will give a nice exposure to know and grow in life. I have transformed from a boy to a man in the college. But, I personally believe, we need more research and good teachers to bring back that tag again.

Entrance Preview

I wrote AIEEE to get admission in PEC. I had two choices, either BSc in ISM dhanbad or BE in PEC. I chose *engineering*. There was no interview, admission to pec is done through merit list only.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I was in production branch, it was decent in nutshell. We had more sessions in machine labs and CNC labs to get practical aspects of theory. Yes, production engineering department was having research initiatives as well.

Internships Opportunities

Yes college did provide an internship. But it is advisable to apply on campus as avg stipend from college is only 8-10k for our branch.

Placement Experience

4

In year 2015, Placements were very good. 100% of my branch(eligible students) was placed. Major companies were Volvo eicher, futures first, zs associates, alstom, havells, minda uno, vardhman group, exl analytics, evalueserve, grail research, musigma, Indus insights etc. Average package for production was 5 lpa

College Events

5

Vyom and pecfest were two fests in the colleges. Pecfest in one of the biggest fests in northern India. We had coke studio, Vishal shekher, amit trivedi on our fest. Organization was good and college authorities were also decent enough to cooperate.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As pec is funded by Chandigarh administration. Fee was very much affordable. It was avg 37k per semester at my time.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, college had different scholarships for students. Like ews scholarship for economical weaker section students, fee waiver for branch opener, fee waiver for branch topper, shailly sachdev for social activities etc.

Campus Life

4.5

One word: Best. PEC is brilliant in extracurricular, you will find students practicing at 8 pm in the night in the college. Different events happening in the premise. Clubs and Societies working day and nights having their events almost everyday. Secys running in the college with permissions. We celebrate each event with full heart. Yes, I was fully transformed through my College life. I was Student head of NSS, was part of dramatics club, part of placement committee, did short movies etc. PEC gives you an awesome exposure to grow and excel in life.

Hostel Facilities

4

I was day scholar. At my time, rooms were of single occupancy and infrastructure was decent enough to stay in nights with hostellers. We, day scholars had to pay 50 Rs. For lunch/dinner(only if you are caught)

Alumni/Alumna

This is the place, where I find improvement are required, the only way which is connecting alumni is clubs and societies. But there is no such serious contribution from college. I know there have formed alumni relations committee but there is no visible action from them. Alumni play an important role in college life. Relations with alumni will get companies for the college and also knowledge to students about pec.

Exam Structure

Exams in PEC is just like roller coaster. You will get that thrill and nervousness at the same time. 2 mid-sem in the day was hell of an adventure. They were tiring but overall if you are well prepared before exam. It would be a cake walk. But, we engineers are really procrastinators :P

Faculty

4

Every college is having amalgamation of good and bad teachers, So did we. Our HOD, MM gaud was really qualified and hardworking teacher. Mr. Jawalkar was also dedicated teacher. All teachers were really friendly and approachable to us

Placements of this college is better than many tier 2 NITs . Students are eligible for placement in 8th semester. If we talk about the top companies visiting PEC, these are Apple, Google, Microsoft, American Express, McKinsey, JP Morgan etc.
