Remarks
Remarks: Raghu Engineering College is one of the sort after colleges and studying there was a great experience all together.
Entrance Preview
To get into my college one can appear for EAMCET, entrance exam for the state of Andhra Pradesh. Depending upon the course that you want to opt for and the ranking of the college at the time of admission, window of desired rank keeps fluctuating. Raghu Engineering College or Recognized is one of the go to college in my city. Higher end colleges are known to spoil the students with rampant bad behavioral conduct and lower end colleges lack infrastructure and facilities. REC stands in the mid range, with good enough facilities to ensure a bright future and an environment conducive to growth. Given this information and my score in EAMCET, my parents were suggested this college. That is how I ended up in this college. Joining process After applying to the college, I was called for interview. After a week I was called to inform that I can join the college. What made me join the course: I opted for computer science. Cs is considered to be the safest option in this ever changing world. Given that the scenario changes dramatically we can be at a grave danger of loosing a job or worse not even getting one. After spending a lot of time reading on Google, I decided to go with computer science.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course I chose was well maintained and students were well informed of the options available. While there was stipulated time for theory and practical classes, most of the concern was on how things work practically. I didn't face any difficulty in mapping theory with the respective practical aspects. I came across faculty members who have been working on research. However, there was official communication regarding these researches. We had a choice to opt for electives in 3-4 subjects. However, this number may increase or decrease.
Internships Opportunities
College doesn't provide any internship opportunities to students. However we are free to look out for such opportunities.
Placement Experience
I'm short, quiet good. Over 500-600 students were placed in my batch. College is doing increasingly well. College was visited by many major recruiters like Infosys, TCS, Tech mahindra and many more. Packages ranged over 1 lakh per annum to 4 lakh per annum.
College Events
College organizes an annual technical, cultural and managerial fest. One fest accommodates all the facets. The fest is one the best managed and promoted college fests in the city.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure keeps fluctuating depending on the course opted, rank scored and the mode of selection. However I completed my engineering with the course fee of 3 lakhs
Fees and Financial Aid
College does provide scholarships. However, I was not eligible for one.
Campus Life
College has committees for different sports, cricket, volleyball, basketball, handball and many more. We were allowed and promoted to participate in intra college and inter college events. College also supports in speaking and writing clubs.
Hostel Facilities
College provides hostel for boys. I heard from my male friends that its on a sharing basis and management there is quite approachable. Food is provided in the small college canteen that we all ate. Hence, should be quite good.
Alumni/Alumna
There is a well maintained network of alumni. Since I was not a social person, I have very less information regarding this.
Exam Structure
Exams are frequent affair, with some or the other exam popping up in every two three weeks. They were properly spaced and properly organized to ensure that the exams don't stress over neither were they forgotten.
Faculty
Faculty qualification ranges from B.Tech, MSc, Mtech to PhD and sometimes even double PhD. It's quite easy to become a friend with faculty. They are quite approachable and helping. Standard of teaching is quite good compared to other colleges, with no spoon feeding and other malpractices.
