Nit Rourkela pros and cons

CSE is the most demanded course in engineering right now. Hence seeing the demand it was simple to choose. The faculty is good. The only problem you will have in the classroom is your attendance The college is very strict regarding attendance. NIT Rourkela has an 85% attendance criteria. Which is highest in India. At the start of the first year, you will be divided into two groups having different semesters. In the first semester half will have the Electrical sem and another half will have the Electronics sem. In the 2nd semester, the courses will be interchanged. Electronics sem is easier compared to electrical sem. But Electrical sem has more lab courses compared to electronics sem making it easier to improve the score. hence creating a Ballance between the two courses.

The internship are hard to get you need need to be prepared at the end of 2nd year. There is a lot of competition you will not know what your classmates are doing expertly for your studies. Especially coaching, Every student in nit Rourkela is good at coding. The students from the lowest branches might get internships in IT Companies instead of cse students based on their skills.

The placements are impressive. You will get companies coming from the 3rd year onwards. In case and circuital branches, you will get confirmed placement. In 2021-22 the Cse branch had an average placement of 21 lakh which is impressive even among nits and iits.

The total free for the first sem is 1,24,000 and from the second sem onwards it will be 99,000 except for the 5th sem which is 102,000. For CS ST whose family income is below 2lkh, have a tuition fee waiver of 62,500 sem semester.

It has the 2nd largest library in India. It has all the books you will need. The classes are held in Lecture Avenue for the first-year students then second year onwards it will be held in the respective department's building. Each department has a different building. The classrooms have AC which is impressive for a Government college.

Hostel is good. If you have been in any hostel before this, you will enjoy. The washroom are always cleaned 24*7 electricity and water supply you also have washing machines and water cooler. The water coolers are no joke. You will get ice cool water. Anyways students have to stay in hostel. Dayscollers are not allowed.

It is Nit so we had our addmission through jossa counseling. Addmission procedure was simple but long. For cse in nitrkl you will need a general rank of <5000 for the open category and for SC/ST it is <8000/11000. And for the tuition fee is 62,500 and it's total free is 1,24,500/yr. But for SC/ST there is a 100% tuition fee waiver. That will be only 61,500 total free.
