Course Curriculum Overview
I just finished my 1st year and yeah the course curriculum was pretty simple mostly like the previous knowledge of my school. The Faculty members were good but some of them are very cautious about attendance most of the faculty are highly experienced professors. Exams are not so tough you only have to study one week before the exam to get a decent cgpa.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are very fascinating many students get Internships during 3rd year and at the last of 2nd year. Various tech companies provide internships and many of them also get internships from Google and Microsoft also.
Placement Experience
Placements are quite impressive each year and about 80-85% of students are placed every year. Many tech companies like Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Accenture, TCS, and many more visited last year, and multiple offers are also made by some students. The highest package is about 45 LPA given to a student and the average is about 12 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fee for college admission whose income is more than 5 LPA is approximately rupees 70,000 per semester and for income less than 5 LPA, there is a fee waiver for different classes of income. My hostel fees per semester are about rupees 30,000. There is govt. scholarships for home state students and for other states many other scholarships are also available.
Campus Life
The campus is not so well maintained but still so much greenery around hostels and many academic buildings. Many clubs are here for dance, music, robotics, coding, photography, and debate. Recently we had our biggest annual fest Rebecca and many other fests also happened.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are not quite good, there is no single-seater for 1st and 2nd year. I have 3 more people in my room they provide us with a bed, cupboard, and study desk for each person. Mess food is not so impressive but you get used to it after some time.
Admission
For admission to IIEST shibpur, I opted for JEE mains exam in 2022. For Jee mains entrance you have to be qualified in class 12 with a minimum of 75% marks overall. You can get the information brochure from the NTA website where you will find the details about the application form and application fees for JEE Mains exam. I availed the OBC category reservation on tuition fees of my college. If they let us updated on the dates of events of Jee exam clearly that would be great.
