- As the campus is huge, which is around 1200 acres
- And as bikes and other vehicles are not allowed
- And Yes, being an engineering college, the gender ration is 6 boys per girl.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is one of the toughest among all other engineering colleges. Professors hold great degrees and their teachings are up to the mark. Some professors are really great and show a passion for teaching . They are helpful. The exams are held semester-wise.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of internship opportunities in this college as it is one of the top institutes in India. As I have not been enrolled in any of the internship programs, I don't have enough idea about the amount they pay to the students.
Placement Experience
The college placement of this college is very good as far as I know. Around 300 to 400 companies come to recruit students enrolled in various programs. Above 90% of students of all branches get placed which is exceptional.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is good enough. For a general candidate, it comes to around 8 - 9 lakhs for a BTech degree irrespective of the branch. And for MSc and BSc programs, it's comparatively cheaper. Being one of the top institutes, you get a lot of scholarship opportunities from both govt and pvt firms. And lastly, the placement is very good in this college. Especially for the top branches and the circuitry branches.
Campus Life
Campus life is the best part of being in NITR. There are 3 fests that happen every year- INNOVISION, COSMOPOLITAN, and NITRUTSAV. Besides, there are separate hall day celebrations for each and every hostel (a total of 10 hostels). The classrooms are well equipped with some of the best gadgets to have the best learning experience. The sports facilities are also good here. There are 2 3 stadiums for several sports, a swimming pool and many gyms in and around the hostel areas. Also, there are more than 60 clubs here in NITR to enroll and develop your skills.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are not that big. There is basic equipment in the room and each room is equipped with a LAN port to access 24 X 7 internet service. Initially, the mess food tasted good but later on, the quality was reduced. The registration for hostel is done during admission and it is not rocket science to do so. The hostel fees are quite affordable and up to mark.
Admission
The admission process was very smooth. All the coordinating members and staffs were well aware and were up to mark in their jobs. The entrance is done through JEE Mains result. The cutoff for higher branches is quite high and for a general candidate, around 50k rank is enough to get into the lowest branches.
