Course Curriculum Overview
I choose Electrical engineering because it is the one I was getting through my Jee score and also I seem to have a love for electronic systems. Major of the faculty members are from Bengal itself, but many of them have studied and qualified from IIT. Some of the professors have studied at foreign universities also. In a year 4 main exams were held which 2 are semester exams and 2 being mid-semester exams. If you attend daily classes it is easy to pass all of them because what professors teach, that only they give in exams.
Internships Opportunities
There are internship opportunities in the college and major companies include microsoft,texas instruments,many big names and you need to have good skills and personality to get in top to avail the internahips.
Placement Experience
Placements are actually good in the college, and you will be able to apply in 3rd year. I can tell you about a batch of 2023, the average overall package was about 12lpa of which the highest on campus was 56lpa and off campus was 1.2cr. In electrical around 89% of students who applied got placed and around 5-6 students applied for higher studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college comes under NIT so it has a particular fee structure and also you can use an income certificate to get scholarship benefits. If you have a family income of more than 5lakh then you will have to pay full fees of the institute which is around 1.2lak per year. You can also avail of other scholarships in the college, in which the main one is GAABESU which is financial assistance by alumni of the institute.
Campus Life
The campus of IIEST is around 80-90 acres, there are 2 grounds and 1 basketball court on the campus, so you can play all sports you want to play. And about fests, there are many fests in the college so if you are thinking of coming here and you want fests don't worry, there are many and you will be bored after attending so many fests. All the departments of the college have their different societies and there are all types of clubs for dance, singing, sports, etc.
Hostel Facilities
In the first year, you will have 3 hostels (H8, H9, H10). Rooms will be 4 seaters and this is applied for all, and the hostel will be accommodated on the basis of how far you live from the campus. The menu of the hotels is decided by the boarders themselves and usually around 25-30k is cost per semester. If anyone wants to live in PG, there are many around the campus.
Admission
You need to qualify in JEE Mains with a good score to get a seat in college throughout JOSSA counselling. During admission there was a particular place (Institute Hall) where forms were being distributed and a token was given so that first comer gets first admitted.
